At foss.in , I think I could do a workshop or talk on security
(iptables/selinux/and various tools available on fedora).
That could be helpful for running important servers on fedora.
Has anybody already taken that up?
Please let me know asap, as 8th is the last day for registration.

James Morris has been requested to talk on SELinux, but don't let that
deter you from proposing a talk. What would perhaps be better is an
application oriented talk on how to secure server services on Fedora.
That has the plus of allowing you to actually figure out a collaborative
forum of like minded folks who handle Fedora mirrors and the like.

Just keep in mind that whatever the audience learns from the
talk/workshop should be usable to give back to Fedora.
Or in other words, we don't want to teach folks how to use Fedora to
solve their own problems, but want them to help improve Fedora and
solve Fedora's problems.

If that statement implies that Fedora's problems != user's problems then
effectively we need to talk about do we really listen to our users
provided we have defined who are our users. Solving of user's problems
are not really completely orthogonal to what can be Fedora's problems.
The only drawback of Susmit's talk is that it can become "Server Hacks
with Fedora". I don't really see anything bad about that primarily.

Cool. A brief overview on the internals of SELinux and Iptables
followed by the areas in which Fedora's tools can be improved would be
good.

A talk on setting up and maintaining one's own private or public
mirror would be good too.

I am a bit confused about the way they are approaching workshops for
the project days. http://foss.in/2007/info/Call_for_Participation
says: "Workshops count as Main Conference sessions and need formal
proposal and acceptance".
To avoid confusion is it feasible for you to submit your sessions as
"talks" for the Fedora Project Day?
