Fedora 7 Update Informatin for general users
by Thomas Chung
First all, thank you for Fedora Update System.
It's wonderful to see that we finally have something we always wanted.
While looking at the list of Stable Updates for Fedora 7[1], it gives
me an idea that this could replace our static Fedora Security
Advisories and Package Updates for Fedora 7[1] on our project wiki.
What do you think? Could we open this system up so any general users
can see this information anonymously without logging-in with Fedora
Account System?
Perhaps, we could create a new page specifically for anonymous users
without comments field?
This will be an enormous help and save my *endless-efforts* to update
the wiki pages manually. :)
Best Regards,

Wiki localization: patch wiki, or work with current tools ?
by Samuel Bizien
Hi,
I'm Samuel Bizien, from l10n/fr team, working on wiki pages.
For few days now, we've been discussing the idea to improve localization
in the wiki, with websites list
(https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-websites-list/2007-June/msg00169.html).
The goal is to make easier for user to find the localized version of the
page he is reading (in english, most of time). We've set up a wikipage
to see how we could manage it manually:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/L10N/Wikipages
But it would be quite long to manage it this way.
So, is it possible to manage it automatically ? Is it easier to patch
wiki or to maintain these pages ?
I've heard (from Ville-Pekka Vainio) that this is a feature that may
appear in next version of moinmoin wiki. Could we patch our moinmoin
wiki from development version ?
Thanks for your answers.
Regards,
Samuel.

Test group and accounts cleanup
by Mike McGrath
I'm adding a test group for publictest1. I'm debating whether or not to
have the test servers connect to a test instance of the accounts db...
I think maybe as we mature it would be useful but right now will add
more overhead (open to thoughts on this). There will be a test accounts
db on publictest1... I'm not sure what content will be in it.
Item 2: I'm going to be cleaning up some groups in the account system
(for infrastructure) and will probably remove a group or two. If you
feel you've been wrongly removed from a group, just let me know. We'll
get you set back up.

Wiki slowness
by Christian Iseli
Hi folks,
Just a bit of rant that I find the wiki very slow when updating the
PackageStatus pages.
For example, it took longer than 15 minutes between the time I pushed
the "Save Changes" button until the browser started to display the updated page
in the case of the PackageMaintainers/PackageStatus/OpenBugs page...
I agree the size of those pages grew quite a bit, but I don't remember
things being so slow with the previous wiki...
If anyone has ideas to speed things up, I'll be waiting on the corner
with lolling tongue :)
Cheers,
Christian

publictest1.fedora.redhat.com
by Mike McGrath
Its up! sysadmin-main has access, we should probably create a test
group and start putting people in it. Do what you will.
The following machines should be shut down (if possible) and migrated to
publictest1. I'll leave it up to the sysadmin team to do theirs (if
they have one)
test3
test6
test7
test8
publictest4
There could be others but these are the ones I can think of.

fpserv heads up and final call
by seth vidal
Hi folks,
I'm going to nuke all of fpserv and start it over from scratch. I want
to verify that no one is using anything in any of the following dirs on
fpserv:
/srv/mirrorStats
/srv/zope
/srv/web
I'm going to back up /etc and as much of anything else as I can to a
hotbackup before I nuke it - but please let me know if you see anything
beforehand. Thanks!
