Meeting Agenda Item: Introduction Dave Parfitt
by David Parfitt
Hello -
My name is Dave Parfitt and I live in Buffalo, NY, USA (EST).
I have been writing software since the 1980's in many different languages
and on several platforms (Java, Ruby, C, Python, C#, FreeBSD kernel
internals etc). I'm currently a Software Engineer at the State University
of New York at Buffalo, but have previously worked as a hybrid
sysadmin/developer.
I can contribute about 4 hours on average. Some weeks I'll have more time,
some weeks none.
I'm joining to meet and learn from other interesting people around the
globe. As I am more of a "tools person", it seemed like the infrastructure
team is a great fit. I'd like to think I'm a fun guy to work with, and look
forward to meeting and working with everyone. If anyone would like more
information, please don't hesitate to ask.
Cheers -
Dave Parfitt

Meeting Agenda Item: Introduction Konstantin Ryabitsev
by Konstantin Ryabitsev
Hi, all:
I'm a longtime member of Fedora, but until now have been mostly involved
in packaging efforts. I recently joined the Linux Foundation as part of
the kernel.org sysadmin team, and I'd like to participate in
Fedora-infrastructure, primarily as a way to rub elbows with admins
doing similar things and facing similar challenges as kernel.org.
IRC handle: mricon
Skills: Web programming, web security, SELinux, Python, among
many others.
Cheers,

Meeting Agenda Item: Introducing Jakub Jedelsky
by Jakub Jedelsky
Hi all,
my name is Jakub Jedelsky, on IRC and FAC as 'kubo'.
I'm working as sysadmin for ~3 years in datacenter (CZ, EU) where I prepare
and maintain (mainly) CentOS servers for a lot of ways of usage - from web
and proxy (apache, lighttpd, nginx), mail (postfix, dovecot) and database
(pgsql, mysql, mongodb, sphinx) servers to HA clusters and virtualization
(vmware, openvz). I work with bash and simple python scripts daily,
sometimes prepare rpm packages (just building own repo for centos) and
interesting in security. I've got RHCE (under RHEL 6).
I would like to help community with sysadmin tasks and with some (simple,
in trac 'easyfix') bugs or with simple development. I would like to be a
member of some of these groups [1]:
sysadmin-tools
sysadmin-noc
sysadmin-hosted
Unfortunately I'll can't attend meetings becouse of another activities at
the same time (from time to time I'm free so I'll look forward to say hello
there).
And I've got a first question: is anywhere a list of all infra projects? I
know that FAS has different trac page as infra main trac. I would like to
help with some of them but don't know where to look.
Kind regards,
JJ.

Meeting Agenda Item: Introduction Matthew Cupps
by Matthew Cupps
Greetings everyone,
My name is Matthew (cuppsy on IRC), and I recently joined this mailing list
in hopes of eventually being able to help volunteer in the Infrastructure
group with Fedora. I have been a desktop user of Linux for almost a decade,
and for the past three years have ran Arch Linux (and now Fedora 16) using
dwm and a mostly CLI-based system. I thoroughly enjoy studying Linux and
have recently launched a CentOS home web server to continue learning. In
March, I am taking the RHCSA exam, with hopes of taking the RHCE exam
afterwards.
I am currently a web developer, and based in Miami, Florida. In addition to
development, I also help manage our servers, and recently have taken that
from a passing interest to something I'd like to eventually do full-time. A
chance to work with the Fedora Project, even for a few hours a week, seems
like an excellent way to get some experience under my belt and a great
opportunity to work with others more knowledgeable than myself.
Anyway, that's my little "Hello World!" I hope I can learn from this
experience and hopefully in the future be able to partake in helping with
the Fedora Project. Cheers.
Matthew
PS - Being a developer, I saw the possibility of being able to donate some
of my time to the Fedora website as well. I was wondering (maybe this isn't
the place to ask) if it's possible to get involved with two groups, or if
that's something I should hold off on until I've become more
well-established within just one group?

GPG keysigning event at FUDCon Blacksburg 2012 (and CAcert Assurance Event)
by Nick Bebout
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
We are planning a GPG Key Signing event at FUDCon Blacksburg, which
will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2012 at 1600 (4pm). If you are
interested in participating, please add your info to
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FUDCon:Blacksburg_2012_GPG_Key_Signing_Event
so we can compile a list of participants and keys. So far we have 22
keys signed up and we hope to have even more. That wiki page also has
more information about how we will conduct the event.
I intend to print copies of the GPG key list on either Monday or
Tuesday, I will probably be waiting until Tuesday, but please sign up as
early as you can. I will also publish on my fedorapeople site a gpg
signed copy of the key list. The current version is at
http://nb.fedorapeople.org/keys.pdf and the signature will be at
http://nb.fedorapeople.org/keys.pdf.asc after the final list is
generated.
If you don't get signed up in time, you can still participate, just
bring printed slips with the output of 'gpg --fingerprint YOURKEYID'
printed on them to hand out at the event.
We will also be hosting a CAcert assurance event immediately
following/in conjunction with the GPG keysigning event. Please see
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/FUDCon:Blacksburg_2012_CAcert_Assurance_Event
for more information and a place to sign up for that. We will have
enough assurers present for you to receive well over the 100 points that
you need in order to qualify to become an assurer yourself. Please note
that if you intend to participate in the CAcert event, the name in your
government issued photo ID must match the name recorded in your CAcert
account.
For more information on either event, feel free to contact me at
nb(a)fedoraproject.org or nb(a)cacert.org
Thanks and see you at FUDCon!
Nick
