Freeze break request: modify mash configs for f17
by Kevin Fenzi
This change is needed to mash f17-updates/f17-updates-testing.
Since the parent repos don't exist (or updates does but is empty, Everything doesn't exist).
Note, in testing this I did a f17-updates-testing push that seemed to work fine.
(Please check and confirm).

freeze break request: redo x86-10.phx2.fedoraproject.org
by Seth Vidal
Hi,
I'd like a couple of +1's to:
- take x86-10 out of koji building
- turn on HT in the bios
- reinstall it as buildvm-01
- setup 4 new builder instances on it using 4 procs and 4GB of ram
each
- add those builder instances back into koji
thanks,

Search Engine project
by Ricky Elrod
For some time, we've wanted to explore search engine options, so that you
could go to one site and search all of the Fedora sites that we run.
Examples include: Wiki (wiki search is not that great), docs.fp.o, pkgdb,
etc.
Relative information from last time this was discussed:
https://fedorahosted.org/fedora-infrastructure/ticket/1055
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Infrastructure/Search
I've been playing with various options on one of our junkXX boxes, and
seeing what works well.
- I tried Sphinx, but it seems this is really just a database fulltext
search, not a full-out search engine and crawler solution.
- I tried Xapian, but getting it crawling required a lot of hacking and
conversion from an external crawler (e.g. htdig), and htdig kept throwing
traces and dying, on https sites.
- I tried mnoGoSearch, its CGI would not work at all. It would simply
timeout when I tried to go to it.
- I lastly tried Datapark Search, which seems like our best bet:
- I ran into an issue where randomly the crawler would throw traces
about libcrypto. I reported the issue upstream and they released a snapshot
release two days later that seems to have fixed the issue. So upstream is
active.
- I played with some styling ideas, and tried to incorporate search
results into the standard Fedorahosted/people/wiki template. Needs some
work to finish this, but it's getting there.
- The default CGI template had horrid HTML, but I worked with that and
got it reasonable (going to finish it up today or tomorrow and try to get
it passing as valid html 5).
But out of the options I tried, this seems like the best one available. It
is a fork of mnoGoSearch. It has a lot of options to customize it, and
shape it into what we want it to do.
That said, I am more than open to trying other options before we decide to
move forward with Datapark. If nobody screams over the next few days, I
will work on moving forward. We need to package it, and it looks like we'll
have to package the snapshot version.
Anyway I am just throwing this out to update everyone on my findings, and
see if anyone has ideas for other options.

new web app urls discussion
by Seth Vidal
Summary from the meeting:
Today in the infrastructure meeting we started talking about how to
move the new packages and tagger apps into production and where we want
them to live in the layout of urls.
Goals:
1. simple for users and remember
2. not overlapping with any of the older apps or existing urls
3. futureproofing for new apps or different interfaces
4. expanding the number of apps we have w/o having them grouped under a
single project (like community was).
Non-Goals of this setup:
- no interest in preserving the old admin.fp.o/community urls
- no interest in pinning anything/everything behind admin.fp.o
Suggestions:
packages.fedoraproject.org
some concerns about this are it is a bit confusing with
pkgs.fedoraproject.org.
A couple of ideas there are:
1. make the new packages app be the frontpage for pkgs.fp.o - since
gitweb is.... not performant there.
2. move pkgs.fp.o to git.fp.o or to fedpkg.fp.o and let the new app
take over the other urls.
These are just some suggestions we discussed in the meeting.
Please submit more ideas.

Yubikeys for Fedora developers
by Nick Bebout
Yubico is giving us 20 free Yubikeys. These are primarily intended for people helping with the two factor authentication project although if we have some extra we may be giving them away to members of sysadmin groups having sudo on our machines.
If you would like to be considered to receive one of these, please email nb(a)fedoraproject.org with your mailing address and a short explanation of why you need one and/or what you plan to do with one. Preference will be given to people helping with infrastructure's two factor authentication program.

Meeting Agenda Item: Introduction Fraser Gutteridge
by Fraser Gutteridge
Greetings to the Fedora Infrastructure team,
Just wanted to introduce myself and say thanks for maintaining
such a nice distro of Linux for so long. We've been using Fedora as the
standard distro on many of our desktop machines at the University of
Delaware since approximately mid-2005 (Fedora Core 4!).
I'm interested in becoming involved with the
development/maintenance of the Fedora Project. I've been working with
Linux and Unix-like environments for approximately twelve years, mostly
Fedora, CentOS, RedHat Enterprise and Solaris. Although I have a lot of
knowledge in terms of system and network administration, I've always
wanted to learn more about the Linux kernel and how device drivers etc.
are written.
I currently work on a thirteen-man team for the University of
Delaware, assisting them in maintaining a large number of Unix and Linux
servers as well as a large switch and router infrastructure. My primary
task of late has been managing a VMware cluster consisting of twelve
physical nodes and approximately seventy virtual machines. I am
well-versed in the following programming and scripting languages: C, C++,
Perl, Python, Java, Lisp, PHP and some experience with x86 assembly. I
have a good understanding of the following software: Apache httpd, Apache
Tomcat, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle PL/SQL, OpenLDAP, OpenSSL, Shibboleth
IdP and SP. My operating system experience ranges from various distros of
Linux to Solaris, VMware ESX, Macintosh OS X and most flavors of Windows.
I would be interested in working on any GUI requirements you may
have (I have used GTK+ 2 and 3 for many years), as well as assisting with
any networking, security or system administration tasks that are pending.
If I can learn some of the ins and outs of the Linux kernel while doing
this, so much the better. :)
If anybody has any questions, I can be found on IRC as 'udelblue'.
I look forward to contributing if you need the help.
Thanks!
Fraser

Meeting Agenda Item: Introduction Vladimir Glafirov.
by Vladimir Glafirov
Dear Fedora infrastructure team.
My name is Vladimir Glafirov (irc: StarBeast), I am working at CERN
(cern.ch) in Switzerland for more than 7 years as a system engineer. I
believe that I have enough experience in RHEL and in Fedora distros to
help Fedora community. My main duties at CERN are related to linux
system administration and service level support. I am very keen to share
my knowledge and experience with community. I also interesting to learn
a lot of new things that can improve my knowledge.
I am more less familiar with:
1. RHEL 3/4/5/6, Fedora Core 6-16, Scientific Linux 3/4/5/6, Solaris
7/10, FreeBSD
2. Internet services: LAMP, BIND, DHCPD, Qmail, SAMBA, SQUID
3. Monitoring tools: NAGIOS, Lemon
4. Cluster software: Red Hat Cluster suite 5. Fabric management systems:
puppet, quattor
6. Programming/script languages: Shell, Python, C/C++ a little bit of
Perl and Java.
I will try to spend at least several hours per week to work for Fedora.
My main interests are infrastructure organization and cloud computing.
I hope that my help would be useful for you.
Vladimir Glafirov.
