gitweb to cgit migration - 2012-07-30 (tenative)

Greetings. At our last meeting we talked about the migration of gitweb to cgit for fedorahosted.org and pkgs.fedoraproject.org. Per that discussion we thought to put in only some basic rewrites, so if you were going to: http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/?p=$PROJECTNAME.git you would get redirected to: http://git.fedorahosted.org/cgit/$PROJECTNAME.git I think all the other old /git/ and /gitweb/ urls we just redirect to the top cgit level and someone can then use the handy search box to find what they are looking for. I would like to tenatively plan to make this switchover on 2012-07-30 (two weeks from now). I'll also mail the devel list and ask for flames^Wfeedback from them. kevin

Issue with commenting design Trac ticket (comment lost)

Hi, 2 days ago I added a comment to a design-team ticket[1], and wanted to add a new comment today. I just saw that my previous comment has been lost. Checking my inboxes, I can read the ACK about both, see below the email content. What is weird is that both comments are refering to the comment #5. And since I've received the email, this has nothing to do with preview Vs save comment. Do you know how this can be? cgit testing

So, I sat down today and got cgit mostly working for us to test. For pkgs: Just go to: http://pkgs.stg.fedoraproject.org/cgit/ For hosted: edit your /etc/hosts and add: 66.135.62.201 fedorahosted.org git.fedorahosted.org Then go to: http://git.fedorahosted.org/cgit/ It could be tweaked more for sure, but it seems to work and is reasonably zippy. Can anyone think of any reason not to just enable this on hosted03/pkgs01? It can live alongside gitweb-caching and we can look at redirects to take over when we want to retire gitweb-caching. Some things to look at before announcing/making live/retiring gitweb-caching: - Do we want to ask the design/websites folks for a custom css thats more "fedora-ey" ? - How much do we want to try and set redirects to replace gitweb-caching? kevin

ssh puppet keys?

Not being used to puppet, I want to be able to help out Susmit (Freemedia) with: http://infrastructure.fedoraproject.org/infra/docs/freemedia.txt Does puppet just use ssh key from ones, fas account?
