torrent.fedoraproject.org RSS feed?
by Ben Blankley
I wasn't sure if this question should have gone to infrastructure or
rel-eng, but I figured infrastructure actually runs the server. If
not, please forward along.
With the impending release of F21, I was planning on setting up my
RSS-enabled Bittorrent client to get the F21 final ISO downloading as
soon as possible. Is there an RSS feed for torrent.fedoraproject.org?
If not, is there a mirror-friendly way to automate such a download
upon final release, whether through Bittorrent, rsync, or http?
I have a few systems at home that will need a full new installation
from F20, and since I'm on slow internet I'd rather just download
packages once, while I'm at work in CST. I haven't figured out how to
set up a local update mirror cache yet.
Thanks,
Ben Blankley

change in conditional-restart.sh
by Miroslav Suchý
Hi,
today I run groups/copr-backend.yml playbook and fedmsg/base notified "restart httpd". Which failed because
httpd is there installed, but not enabled (it is there just as requirement of webalizer).
So I'm thinking about change (after freeze):

This works for httpd from el6 to Fedora21. But I tested it only for httpd.
But this is used for all services.
Please raise your voice if you are aware of some service which we want to restart, but we do not enable it.

Retroactive freeze break request: More proxies for EU
by Patrick Uiterwijk
Hi,
So I think I just found the cause of a lot of our issues the last few days, and why it "suddenly" started working more/better later in the evening: the problem was that by taking out proxy02 because of its network issues, the only proxy in the wildcard.fedoraproject.org name for EU was proxy01, hitting it *very* hard during EU day hours.
I just updated the DNS repo to give some more proxies to EU zone, and would like +1s for this.
We will need to check into more proxies for EU.

Fedora 21 Final Freeze now in effect
by Kevin Fenzi
Greetings.
we are now in the infrastructure freeze leading up to the Fedora 21
Final release. This is a final release freeze.
You can see a list of hosts that do not freeze by checking out the
ansible repo and running the freezelist script:
git clone http://infrastructure.fedoraproject.org/infra/ansible.git
scripts/freezelist -i inventory/inventory
Anything listed as freezes is frozen until 2014-12-09 (or later if the
release slips). Frozen hosts should have no changes made to them without
a signoff on the change from at least 2 sysadmin-main or rel-eng
members.
Thanks,
kevin

OOM killer on bapp02
by Adrian Reber
The OOM killer on bapp02 has terminated a few mirrormanager crawler
processes. It seems it needs more memory or the number of parallel
crawlers has to be further limited.
Another good idea would be to limit the duration of the rsync crawls in
/etc/mirrormanager/prod.cfg to maybe one day (--timeout=86400) to avoid
stale rsync processes.

Upgrading RPMFusion.org
by Michael Cronenworth
Hello all,
I am going to assist RPM Fusion upgrade their infrastructure. They still use CVS
/ plague for package management and building.
I have created a VM on my network to house a test environment to perform a
POC-type configuration before touching the live environment. Ideally I would
like to mirror the parts of Fedora's current infrastructure they need. RPMFusion
uses a single server and only a fraction of the services so I'm looking to
replicate the following:
FAS
Fedmsg
Pkgdb2
Git (gitolite3)
Koji
Bodhi
The VM contains all of these services and they are running, but they aren't all
talking to each other yet. RPMFusion only uses one of these currently - FAS, but
it is uses version 0.8.4.1 so it will need to be upgraded.
I know about the ansible repository for Fedora
(https://infrastructure.fedoraproject.org/cgit/ansible.git/). There are also the
rel-eng script repos (https://git.fedorahosted.org/git/fedora-infrastructure.git
and https://git.fedorahosted.org/cgit/releng/). Are there any other resources to
review to help me get everything talking? Any gotchas?
Along the way I encountered bugs with FAS and pkgdb2 but there isn't components
in Bugzilla for these. Where would I report bugs for them? The Bodhi bug I
encountered has been filed (bz 1171875).
Thanks,
Michael

freeze break: add memory to proxy01
by Kevin Fenzi
Right now proxy01 in phx2 has 4GB of memory.
I'd like to double that to 8GB.
I can take it out of dns rotation, add the memory and add it back.
