Good morning everyone,
I just cut a new bug-fix pkgdb2 release: 1.30.1

* Thu Oct 08 2015 Pierre-Yves Chibon <pingou(a)pingoured.fr> - 1.30.1-1
- Update to 1.30.1
- Use the readonly setting instead of disabling the fields (disabling the fields
prevent them to be submitted, thus preventing the form from working)

Plan for tomorrow's Fedora Infrastructure meeting - 2015-10-08
by Kevin Fenzi
The infrastructure team will be having it's weekly meeting tomorrow,
2015-10-08 at 18:00 UTC in #fedora-meeting on the freenode network.
We have a gobby document
(see: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Gobby )
fedora-infrastructure-meeting-next is the document.
Please try and review and edit that document before the meeting and we
will use it to have our agenda of things to discuss. A copy as of today
is included in this email.
If you have something to discuss, add the topic to the discussion area
with your name. If you would like to teach other folks about some
application or setup in our infrastructure, please add that topic and
your name to the learn about section.

Meeting Agenda Item: Introduction Brian O'Regan
by Brian ORegan
Hello World!
IRC handle: puffi
Fedora Account name: puffi
I'm Brian O'Regan. I'm based in Ireland and I'm on UTC Dublin,Edinburgh,Lisbon,London.
I've been working in support/sysadmin roles for close to 15 years.
I'm looking to contribute aprox 4-5 hours a week to begin with
as I feel it's amount I can maintain.
Working with FOSS since the late 90's with RH 5.2 and not having ever contrubited much before.
I felt it was time to change this. I chose Fedora because it's one of the distro's that I don't know very well
so it would be an opportunity for me to learn and to give something back while doing so.
I'm starting to really enjoy looking at system performance and I'd like to learn about build systems/packaging systems
so it would be great to combine these. I'm really enjoying watching the fedora-noc team work and would love to learn more
about their virtualised enviroments and feel I could offer some hours here also I've worked for a number of years with
large scale clustred storage.
I've been monitoring the IRC channels fedora-admin and fedora-noc and really enjoying how the team work together
and feel I could learn a lot and hopefully bring something useful to it with my expierence. I would also love to join
in on the apprentice group to be able to have a look around the various infrastructure.
I'm going to continue observing how the teams works on IRC and will start to attend the weekly meetings and hopefully
get some questions answered and and get to talk with some of you.
Cheers
Brian

[release] fedmsg-fasclient: 0.8
by Pierre-Yves Chibon
Good Morning everyone,
I just made a new release of fedmsg-fasclient: 0.8
Here is the changelog:
* Wed Oct 07 2015 Pierre-Yves Chibon <pingou(a)pingoured.fr> - 0.8-1
- Update to 0.8
- Adjust which playbook is run depending on which group was changed or which
field of an user account was edited
The idea is to speed things up. We now have two playbooks to run fasClient on
our hosts:
- run_fasClient.yml the old playbook that runs on all our hosts (but some that
do not have fasClient installed)
- run_fasClient_simple.yml the new playbook that only runs on the hosts most of
our users care about (fedorahosted, fedorapeople, pkgs02...)
So fedmsg-fasclient has been adjusted to check which group was updated and which
field in a user's profile.
- If any of the group include 'sysadmin' in its name or if the ssh_key field of
an user was updated -> run run_fasClient.yml
- otherwise (user changed their latitude/longitude, privacy setting, user signed
the FPCA..) -> run run_fasClient_simple.yml
So this should reduce the number of time we update all our hosts in favor of a
more relevant update.
Let us know if something does not work,
Thanks,
Pierre

Welcome to the batcave
by Kevin Fenzi
Welcome to the batcave!
In it's undisclosed location under stately wayne manner we manage all
of Fedora Infrastructure and keep villians off the streets of
gotham. ;)
Some things to note:
0. The ssh host key has changed since this is a new instance.
Update your host keys accordingly.
1, There were 5 hosts left using puppet when we retired lockbox01
(The old puppet host):
two of them are virthosts and just need reinstalling:
bodhost01.fedoraproject.org
internetx01.fedoraproject.org
three of them are our mailman2 machines, and will go away as soon as we
finish migrating to mailman3:
collab03.fedoraproject.org
hosted-lists01.fedoraproject.org
one of them we are working on migrating and just need to do it:
hosted03.fedoraproject.org
Everyone should take EXTRA CARE with any changes on these machines.
They are backed up, but everyone should consider them in a frozen state
(needing 2 +1's to change anything) so we avoid breaking them.
2. There will likely be things we need to fix. Please be patient with
us as we work through any issues. If you find something broken and no
one is available to fix it, please file a ticket on it so we can get it
sorted out.
I hope everyone enjoys the nice RHEL7, faster, larger, better batcave.
Now, go fight some crime. :)
