Freeze Break request: add new proxy07
by Kevin Fenzi
Greetings.
Our sponsor bodhost discontinued their bare metal servers, but gave us
a cloud instance to use. I've configured this cloud instance to be a
proxy server (proxy07, like the one that was on the old bodhost box
before).
I'd like to add it to dns, then try sending some traffic it's way.
If it causes any problems I can remove it again...
+1s?

IRC bot in testing updated to limnoria
by Kevin Fenzi
Greetings.
I mentioned this as a meeting a while back and wanted to mention it
here to get some wider testing.
I've packaged, gotten reviewed (Thanks Patrick), and pushed into repos
the limnoria package (a maintained fork of supybot/supybot-gribble).
I've updated value01.stg with the new packages and updated out staging
version of zodbot: ursabot.
As far as I can see everything seems to be running ok (aside from a
issue with the Fedora plugin, which seems to hard code
admin.fedoraproject.org in a few places).
https://github.com/fedora-infra/supybot-fedora/issues/51
(If someone wants to fix it).
ursabot is currently in #fedora-noc and #fedora-supybot and of course
available via /query.
If folks would like to test it out that would be great. Hopefully all
looks well and we can update zodbot after freeze/release.

Is it OK if I move fpaste to pagure?
by Ankur Sinha
Hiya,
I was thinking of moving fpaste to pagure now that we have this
*awesome* tool set up and functional. I've tried to get in touch with
the original maintainer - zcat, but I haven't heard back from yet.
Would this be OK? Any concerns here?
I already have a repo here, and I keep it up to date (along with
another one on Github). I just feel pagure/github work better than
fedora hosted :)

Freeze break request: API break request: FAS to not return inactive accounts
by Patrick Uiterwijk
Hi,
Since we currently have to deal with a lot of spam accounts, it would
be very useful for our
systems, like zodbot and FMN, to not retrieve all of those accounts from FAS.
I have just merged a patch for FAS2 to not return inactive accounts by
default, and I would
like +1s to push this to production.
The patch is at https://github.com/fedora-infra/fas/pull/161.
Do note that this patch does break the FAS2 API in that it suddenly
stops returning inactive users.
Please take this into consideration when sending a +1/-1.

Patrick

Making hacking on fedora-apps quicker and simpler
by Ryan Lerch
As a designer, when I jump into doing a UI review, or hacking on the
templates / CSS of a new project, one of the most painful steps for me is
getting my dev environment set up.
Most of our webapps do have very good documentation on getting a dev
environment set up, but invariably this takes a good chunk of time and
fiddling for me (being someone that is not super-familiar with setting up
and running the back-ends of webapps). This is especially relevant if what
i am trying to fix is just a simple template change, and TBH manually
tweaking postgres config files is not really my idea of a good time. :)
Long story short, i am asking for comments and thoughts on how to make
setting up a dev environment simpler and easier (and perhaps even
standardized between all our apps).
I recently started playing with Vagrant, and made this vagrant setup[1] for
bootstrapping a bodhi dev envirionment using Vagrant on top of
vagrant-libvirt, and it works pretty well for me -- i can just use one
command to spin up a new clean instance of a bodhi dev environment, with
the DB configured and populated and ready to go. Note that i chose libvirt
with Vagrant here, primarily because i am not well versed in Docker, but
Docker on Vagrant is possible too.
cheers,
ryanlerch

Tammy,
1) Roughly how long is the commute ? Meetings routinely take the
entirety or nearly so of the 1 hr block we all get for mtgs
2) Do you use metro or carpool? if so look at android /iphone irc
clients (Do not recommend / condone using if you are the driver) some
clients to look at:
iOS Apps: rooms | irccloud
Android Apps: Andchat | irccloud
Webchat in any browser via things like kiwirc or mibbit or LayerBNC
are options too.
3) Assuming from the help you've been asking in -admin last few days you
seem to be sysadmin-y interested, any things in particular and or
other areas desired or good at ?
