Projects under github.com/fedora-infra
by Pierre-Yves Chibon
Good Morning Everyone,
I've been looking at all the projects we have under the fedora-infra org on
github.com.
We have 134 projects there:
- 45 of them are archived
- 1 is a mirror
- people2
- 4 are forks: https://github.com/fedora-infra?type=fork
- ssh-gpg-smartcard-config
- Last commit on November 2020
- Seems up to date with its parent project
- pyramid_fas_openid
- master branch
- last commits October 2020 (previous ones 2017)
- 40 commits ahead of master in its parent project
- develop branch
- last commits 2015
- 26 commits ahead of master in its parent project
- badgr-server
- last commit March 2020
- 415 commits behind its parent project
- fedora-college
- Last commit August 2014
- 22 commits behind its parent project
Questions:
Are they being used/developed?
Do we need them?
If not, can we simply delete them?
- 85 are "source" repo.
Of these I would like to propose that we archive the following 24:
- tbs
- fpdc
- fedora-packages
- fedora-search
- stickynotes2modernpaste
- people2
- pkgwat.api
- pkgwat.cli
- noggin-old
- cpsreport
- taiga-contrib-oidc-auth
- zanata2fedmsg
- rdbsync
- fedmsg-notify
- fedmsg-health
- pkgdb2
- fedmsg-genacls
- fedora-stats-tools
- fedmsg-java
- pagure-hook-receiver
- JSAutoLogin
- fedmsg-wp
- askbot-fedmsg
- busmon
Then we have a these four that we run but do not maintain and that may want to
find a better place:
- asknot-ng
- fedbages
- tahrir
- tahrir-api
This would reduce the number of projects down to 57 projects most of which are
run and maintained by Fedora Infrastructure.
Then, I am also wondering if we should move the archived projects to another
organisation just to keep the list of projects somewhat manageable.
What do you think?
Thanks,
Pierre

New default branch for the ansible repo
by Pierre-Yves Chibon
Good Morning Everyone,
Just a quick email to announce that the ansible repo and all the projects under
fedora-infra on pagure.io have changed their default branch from "master" to
"main".
So if you have a local copy, you may want to do something like:
git fetch
git checkout main
git pull --rebase
Then things should just work as usual.
Happy hacking!

Hi all,
Pierre-Yves reminded me that I forgot to send this.
Last December, I opened an RFR for running Zezere on the Fedora Infra
Openshift instance[1].
If anyone wants to ask questions, feel free to let me know on IRC or
reply on this thread.
Regards,
Patrick

Meeting Agenda Item: Introduction Bogdan Benea
by Bogdan Benea
Hi everyone
IRC/FAS: bodanel
My name is Bogdan Benea, I live in Romania.
I'm working with FOSS since the days of Fedora Core 1 when I tried it in
a lab at the university in the early 2000. My diploma project was an
alternative to MicrosoftAD based on Samba 3 and Openldap.
For the last 15 years I've worked as a Linux sysadmin/DevOps.
Scripting: BASH and Python- used depending on the context
I want to give something back (I've been using Fedora for the last 10
years as my main OS) to Fedora and entire FOSS community.
I'm an RHCA 111-152-583 infrastructure and all certifications have been
taken with the technolgies I've used in a certain project. I hope this
helps you direct me to the right tasks in the beginning.
I'm curently working for the Red Hat distributor here where most of my
work here is based on Openshift and Ansible altough I've worked in the
past with Puppet also in the past.
I can also do documentation work if there is something urgent in that
area, I've been also working as a trainer for juniors in my last
company for 2 years.
Right now moving down the getting started page
Best regards
Bogdan Benea
