Shortcuts for window controls
by Patrick O'Callaghan
I seem to spend a lot of time moving windows from one desktop to
another, so I thought I'd figure out how to do this from the keyboard.
Basically I'm looking for shortcuts for the window menu item "To
Desktop/[n]" for Desktop N, but it's not obvious how to do this. The
menu underlines the 'D' of Desktop and the actual desktop number, but
Alt-D Alt-n (and variations on that) don't seem to do anything.
Moving windows with the mouse works of course.
Anyone know the secret formula?

Always open with same program?
by Arthur Pemberton
I no longer see the option in KDE4 in either Konqueror or Dolphi
choose what program a filetype. Previously, when choosing the program
for a first time, one could click a checkbox to always use that
program.

ETA for kde 4.2.1
by José Abílio Matos
Now that 4.2.1 is out officially is there any estimate for it to arrive to
unstable/testing?
I am asking about F10 as it is already out for F11 (rawhide).

Problem with acute accent in filenames with qt 4.5
by Christian González
I've upgraded to qt-4.5.0-0.4.rc1.fc10.i386 from kde-redhat unstable.
Now I have problems with files and directories with acute accent (á,
é, í, ó, ú) in their names.
For example, gwenview can't open a PNG from a "tést" directory (from
command line or dolphin):
[christian@localhost ~]$ mkdir tést
[christian@localhost ~]$ cp /usr/share/wallpapers/solar_wide.png tést/
[christian@localhost ~]$ cd tést/
[christian@localhost tést]$ gwenview solar_wide.png
"/usr/bin/gwenview(6206)" Error in thread 3086743408 :
"org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown - The name
org.kde.nepomuk.services.nepomukstorage was not provided by any
.service files"
"/usr/bin/gwenview(6206)" Error in thread 3086743408 :
"QLocalSocket::connectToServer: Invalid name"
gwenview(6206): Attempt to use QAction "edit_redo" with KXMLGUIFactory!
gwenview(6206): Attempt to use QAction "edit_undo" with KXMLGUIFactory!
[christian@localhost tést]$
Curiously, gwenview can open the PNG when browsing with Thunar or Nautilus.
Downgrading to qt 4.4.3 solves the issue. But after downgrade,
khotkeys and other services failed due to a "Can't find KDED" error.
So I'm forced to use qt 4.5.
Additional info:
* Fedora 10 updated
* kde-redhat stable, testing and unstable repos enabled
* kdelibs-4.2.0-15.fc10.i386
* kde-l10n-Spanish
* LANG="es_CL.UTF-8"
* nepomuk disabled
Thanks in advance and apologizes for my bad english :-).

KDE 4.2.1-3.FC10 - Alt key sometimes gets stuck when Alt-Tabbing
by Chris January
Using KDE 4.2.1-3.FC10 on Fedora 10/x86_64.
Sometimes after pressing Alt-Tab to switch tasks the Alt key gets
stuck down. That is to say every X client application connected to the
X server behaves as if the Alt key is still pressed, even though it
physically isn't. If I kill kded4 from a text console the problem
disappears. If I then restart kded4 and the Alt-Tab functionality is
restored, but the problem may happen again after some time.
The problem doesn't occur every time I Alt-Tab but occurs maybe once an hour.
This problem started to occur within the last few weeks after an
update to the latest KDE from kde-testing (so probably since 4.2.1).

Chris

ftp:// no longer works properly
by Arthur Pemberton
This new problem is pretty annoying, and I'll file a bug later. But
the ftp kio-slave just stops working after awhile telling me that I
don't have permisison to open a file that I know I have permission to
open. It just happens suddenly then stops after a while.
