Ping Rex

Rex, some time ago you told me the best way to start gpg-agent under Fedora. Unfortunately I can't find the message, and I have problems with agent on the F10 netbook and the newly repaired CentOS 5.2 box. If you could tell me again I'll make sure that it is easily found - a gpg page has been started on userbase, so I could put it there. Anne

KDE4 print dialog does not have "Range" option

Hello, It seems that KDE4 print dialog does not have the "Range" option that was in KDE 3.5. Under Option, Copies tab, it only has radio button for "Print all" or "Pages from: .. to ..". This is a regression of functionality, since in KDE 3.5, I can for example set and print the pages: 1-3,5,8-11; but not in KDE4. Is this correct or am I missing something ? Is there bug report associated with this missing functionality ? I tried to search but didn't find anything. Thanks. RDB

Problems with the New GraphicsMagick in Unstable

Hi I get the following problems with the newer package in the Unstable repository on my i386 machine --------------------- dvdauthor-0.6.14-8.fc11.i586 from installed has depsolving problems --> Missing Dependency: libGraphicsMagick.so.1 is needed by package dvdauthor-0.6.14-8.fc11.i586 (installed) Also, the same thing happened on x86_64 desktop plus k9copy was affected by the same problem Eli -- This message has been scanned for viruses and dangerous content by MailScanner, and is believed to be clean.

KOffice downgrade?

Just curious... How come we went from koffice 2 back down to koffice 1.6 in rawhide today? The new koffice 2 was getting to look pretty good and I was finally almost at the point of switching from OpenOffice, but definitely not to koffice 1.6.

.desktop integration for command line app

Hi, this is my first kde list post ;-) I have a review request [1] up for tnef, a "transport neutral encapsulation format" (ie outlook rich text email attachment decoder. Since this is really just a command line program, I spent a bit of time creating a shell script that can be called from gnome/nautilus file manager, and which creates a directory of similar name to the file to decode, and then extracts the contents of the archive into that folder. Jason notes that this doesn't work for kde. Unable to find any specific documents regarding this, I tried installing kdebase, and trying it myself. What I found was that the mime-type is known about, and dolphin shows the match terms that I have written. However, I am not automatically offered to extract the archive. I was able to open with, choose the specific program/terminal/don't close, and then it works OK. 1. Would such integration of a command line program with the dolphin filemanager be welcome ? 2. Is there already kde/qt apps for extracting tnef archives guically (new word) ? 3. If not, where would be some info, on creating the open with association within the rpm package spec, or hints on what to actually do ? Regards, David Timms. Inverted Desktop Effect setting

Hi all, We just figured out that on my laptop the setting under "System Setting" -> "Desktop Effect" -> "Appearance" -> "Logout" works the other way around. When checked it does not fade the desktop on logout and when un-checked it does fade the desktop on logout. My screen isn't locking any more

I'm not sure what's changed -- the last update I did to anything that looks relevant was kdebase-runtime-4.3.1-2.fc11.x86_64 on 17 September -- but in the last couple of days I've noticed that I can no longer lock my screen. Right-click on the desktop and "Lock screen" does nothing, neither does Ctrl-Alt-L, and if I "sleep" my computer it wakes back up unlocked. Is this just me? accept meeting invitations broken in recent kdepim?

I used to be able to accept invitations, but recently it is broken. korganizer always gives an error, that it can't parse the message (or words to that effect). Anyone else?
