How to make konsole always start with fixed size?
by Gene Smith
Is there a way to make konsole, and perhaps other programs too, always
start with a fixed size? I have tried --geometry 80x20 on the command
line but it ignores it. The new konsole always starts with the same size
as the previously opened konsole was set to it seems. This is with kde4.x
Thanks,

kmix used to show my usb speakerphone
by Neal Becker
But not anymore. Shows the speaker, but not the microphone. Too bad,
because it used to work.
I have to install pavucontrol, which does work with it (fm1083 is the
device).
Where should such bugs be reported?

Now widget no longer works after 4.4rc3. Any ideas how I can debug it?
by Gilboa Davara
Hello all,
I've just updated my F12 machine to 4.4rc3.
Since the upgrade, the "now playing" widget no longer displays the
current album/track name/time and the only functional buttons are
"next/previous track" and pause.
I checked upstream and I don't see any bug report concerning the "now
playing" widget and 4.4.
As such I rather post an informative bug report (as opposed to
"widget-no-workie!").
I assume that this widget uses dbus to communicate with amarok, can I
somehow capture/monitor this traffic?

F11 update blockage - missing dependencies
by Anne Wilson
I'm trying to prepare my netbook for a weekend away from home. I expected a
big update, but didn't want to install F12 until I get back. The update is
stalling, with dependency problems:
PyKDE4-4.3
PyKDE4-akonadi-5.4.98-1
PyQt-3.18.1-4
PyQt4-4.7-1
6:kdepim-4.3.98-1
6:kdepim-libs-4.3.98-1
sip-4.10-1
all from kde-unstable, which is enabled. Is this likely to be a simple mirror
update not yet complete? If so, I can wait. If it's something else I need to
make decisions now.

Switch User still broken
by Patrick O'Callaghan
KDE 4.3.4, F12.
IIRC the "Switch User" function hasn't worked for me in any version of
KDE 4. I just get a blank pop-pup window with nothing to select except
the "Close" widget.
Is this a known problem or is it yet another consequence of incompatible
config files between versions?

Fwd: [Bug 188528] konsole's history adds spaces to end of lines when copying text
by Orion Poplawski
I'd love to see this patch added to the Fedora 4.4 rpms asap. Happy to
do the work if it's okay. This bug has been killing me for a long time.
I'd also like to see this appear in F12 soon too. What's the next
update for F12 planned?
Thanks!
- Orion

Thunderbird 3 in System Tray
by paul s
Hi -
I decided to upgrade tb from two to three and have been searching for a
solution for a new mail indicator in the system tray...
The new mail icon and the firetray extensions do not seem to work for
this machine..
kdebase-runtime-4.3.5-2.fc12.x86_64
http://www.smolts.org/client/show/pub_734339f1-74c4-4607-a763-2ef2378ab19e
Also there does not seem to be anything in the preferences for
persistent indication of new mail.
my question is, what is everybody using to hide it in the task manager,
restoring from a system tray icon, and to indicate new mail?
cheers
paul
