Changes to kdeutils in kde-redhat (unstable) have removed a package required by kdevelop
by John5342
Updating today failed with a a seemingly eternal log. After some fault
finding i narrowed it down to the following:
--> Processing Dependency: kdeutils-libs(x86-64) >= %{kde4_version}
for package: 9:kdevelop-libs-4.2.3-1.fc15.x86_64
It appears kdevelop-libs depends on kdeutils-libs but the version of
kdeutils in kde-redhat-unstable no longer seems to have a -libs sub
package.

Printer Configuration no longer integrated in System Settings?
by Martin Kho
Hi,
When I open Printer Configuration in System Settings I get an authentication
dialog box asking for my root password (not my user - sudo - password). After
entering the password a new box opens with all printers and settings and the
window in System Settings changes to "Resize and Rotate your display". The
System Settings window is 'empty' and all controls are disabled (greyed out).
The only option I have is closing System Settings.
Anyone else have seen this? Are here one or more bugs, what components?
Thanks,
Martin Kho
I'm using F15 (KDE 4.6.5) no testing or kde-redhat repository.

Hotkeys do not work in Kate
by root
I installed 64-bit FC15 with KDE on ThinkPad X201i. Hotkeys like Ctrl+S,
Ctrl+W, Ctrl+Q, etc. do not work in Kate or Kwrite editors. How to make them
working?

Mesa update has given me Ubuntu colors
by Martin Kho
Hi,
With the latest Mesa updates all icons have wrong colors (e.g. the normally
blue Fedora start icon is now brown, a red icon is now blue). This only is the
case - of course - when desktop effect are enabled.
I'm using F15 and the nouveau driver.
Anyone else see the same?

Amarok problems
by Anne Wilson
amarok-2.4.1-1.fc14.i686
I haven't had much time to play music lately, but today I planned to catch up
on the new albums on Magnatune. When Amarok started up it told me that I had
very many duplicates in my collection, so the collection may not be completely
added - very strange, because nothing has changed since I last used it.
I found the first of the new albums that I wanted to hear and played the first
track. It moved on to the second track - no sound. I had to Stop then Play
to hear the track. It moved on to the next track - no sound, and Stop and
Play, etc.. I did this for three or four tracks after which Amarok become
totally unresponsive and had to be killed.
Is anyone else experiencing problems, or has my configuration got screwed up
somehow?
Anne

Mysterious message

/etc/cron.daily/man-db.cron:
gzip: /usr/share/man/man1/shutter.1.gz: not in gzip format
gzip: /usr/share/man/man1/shutter.1.gz: not in gzip format
Should I delete shutter.1.gz? What is it - malformed gzip or something else?

About Fedora 15 Spin
by Naveen Kumar Dubey
Dear Sir/Madam
I am currently using fedora 14. Now I want to use KDE Plasma Desktop Spin,
can I update the existing fedora or I need to remove fedora 14 and then
after reinstall fedora 15.
Is their any possibilities to use fedora KDE Plasma Desktop without removing
the current one? then please tell me. I got a torrent file for this from
fedora project site and I downloaded it but that file is in .iso format so I
want to know about this. I need to install it or can I use this inside the
current fedora 14.
Thanking You

font question
by Neal Becker
I just noticed this. In 66-lohit-devanagari.conf, it says:
<alias>
<family>Lohit Devanagari</family>
<default>
<family>sans-serif</family>
</default>
</alias>
Does that mean this font declares itself an alias for sans-serif? Seems a bit
rude.
