nntp (aka, usenet) client in kde?

I currently use t-bird with an nntp account pointing to gmane to read this list and sereral others. Does kde have an nntp client program of any sort? I don't see it as a possible new account type in kmail. Also, search with kpackagekit yields nothing with "usenet" or "nntp" that is kde specific. -gene

Fedora KDE Live Media installer still not available in non-english language (F15 version)

I've reported this problem 2 years ago: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=541055 The problem is still present in F15 KDE Spin. ¿Could we please find some kind of solution? Again, I'm willing to help in any way, but I think that this problem must be priorized by the KDE SIG, especially since Anaconda devs have stated that they will not fix the problem (see comment 6). Kevin Kofler suggested to create a kdialog wrapper. Is it possible? I think even I can help with that part of the solution. Alt+F3 window menu

Good day all, Just wondering if this is just me or if anyone else experiences this, when I click on the far left button or right click on a window title bar, the menu which comes up, comes up in the top left corner of the screen. No matter were the window is on the desktop it always appears at the top of the screen, yet when I press Alt+F3 on the keyboard is shows in the right place. I thought this might have gone away in 4.7 but its still there. anyone else see this? Thanks Martin

persistent and undesired F16ß task bar application launchers

In Fedora 16, I have noticed for a number of weeks now that whenever Ilog in, there are launchers on the task bar for konqueror and dolphin. I have tried repeated to get rid of them, but every time I log back in, they are there again. How can I get rid of them once and for all?

Some kde program buttons mouse select-able, but can't mouse activate

From the gnome 3 shell in rawhide and F16, when I use k3b or dolphin, I cannot activate buttons with the mouse. I can select the button, but then have to press the enter key to activate the button. For menu items, I can select and activate with the mouse. Mouse and keyboard are on an USB kvm switch. Don't see this with previous versions of Fedora. Asked on the desktop list some time ago and was told to ask on kde list. Anyone else seeing this? I am willing to enter a bz, but against what? TIA -- Regards, OldFart

in today's updates, there is a package called smokegen and some associated bindings for kde and qt. What is smokegen? I see it is not being installed by default, as required by a regular update from kde 4.7.0.

Konsole: You need to be root to perform this command

I thought that perhaps it was seeing my keychain configuration, and trying to get keychain started, but I didn't install keychain at first. Keychain is now installed and I expected all to be well. Unfortunately it isn't. Now, when I start Konsole, my shell hangs without displaying a prompt. If I ^C I then see the message as above. So far I haven't identified any error messages obviously related to this. I could use some help in knowing what to look for and where. The only thing I can see that I don't understand is Sep 28 16:22:45 tosh rpc.idmapd[1143]: nss_getpwnam: name 'anne(a)lydgate.lan' does not map into domain 'localdomain' I think this is unrelated, though I'd like to know what is causing that. kaddressbook scrambled

I have set up the kde resources to use the address.vcf file and set up akonadi accordingly. When I open kaddressbook, the contact list is scrambled. This is in kde-4.7.1 (was also the case in kde-4.7.0) on Fedora 16.

KMail2, KDE 4.7.1 and Fedora 15

Thanks for the work on 4.7.1. Sadly I have to report that for me KMail2 is still unusable. I had a lot of problem with conflict reports, some of which would accept a reply, but by about the third report would cause a freeze. I seem to have got past that, for the moment, but am suffering from the known problem of multiple copies of messages. Last night it went mad - one message climbed quickly to 60 copies before I killed KMail. It's also proved rather unstable. Once something has upset it, it has crashed over and over, usually before I can get to whatever it was that it disliked. I've had to resort to trying to spot its problem, then tackle it (usually by deleting unwanted copies of messages) in Thunderbird. I'll persevere for a day or two, but I may have to revert in the end. Anne
