Well, it did it again today. But this time, the plasmoids, desktop
background & other settings were gone AFTER logging in after a
reboot... Rebooting used to be how I got all of that back...
But I tried something new. I logged out, and then logged back in
the KDE "Safe Session" Doing that, my desktop looked just like it is
supposed to:

Unfortuately, when I log out of the safe session, and
back into a regular KDE session, it looks like this again:

If you need any information that I am not providing, just let me know
and I will get that to you.

KDM on Fedora 19
by Mark Bidewell
With the latest updates, KDM will no longer load. It appears that
something, possibly network manager hangs when entering the graphical
target. I can switch to another TTY and network is up.
Any thoughts on how to debug?

KMail painfully slow... why?
by Graham TerMarsch
While I've had no end of grief w/kmail2 after it switched to akonadi and have
never been able to get search working, something else has popped up lately.
Over the last two or three months, kmail2 has gotten *PAINFULLY* slow at doing
just about anything. Click to switch from one message to another, and
sometimes I can wait as long as 90s before the UI updates. Don't even get the
"loading" screen, just waiting before it does anything.
Only thing I've seemed to find that even helps at all is to log out and log
back in again. Its then good for most of the day but by late afternoon things
are bogging down again and I just close it and go back to logging in directly
to my mail server and using "pine".
Nepomuk is running, and is configured for e-mail indexing. Akonadi is
running, but isn't complaining about any problems.
When the problem occurs, its *not* CPU bound, so I'm pretty sure that its not
the feeder/indexer hogging resources. Something, however, seems to be
blocking and holding kmail2 up.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Kmix nolonger starts in "minimized" mode
by Lester M Petrie
In F18 and F17 (and earlier), when I logged in, kmix would start up
minimized in the systray. Now in F19, it opens a window and I have
to explicitly hide it. Is it possible to start kmix in F19 minimized,
and if so, where is the setting? Thanks.
If this is the second copy, I appologize, but I haven't seen the first
try.
