4.11 and Plasma Crashes
by Eli Wapniarski
Hi
I installed 4.11 from the testing repo a couple of days ago on an x86_64.
Plasma deskotp crashes.
A bug report has been filed at
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=322283
The bug report deals mostly with 32 bit kde. So I don't know for sure that its
relevant.
I tried to disable a the kde repo and tried to run yum distro-sync, but there
were too many conflicts to try to deal with them right now without consulting
with you guys.
Anyhoot
Thanks for looking into this.
Eli

Plasma query
by Timothy Murphy
A tiny point, but when I click on the lozenge
at the right-hand end of my panel, and go to Add widgets,
I see what I assume is the alphabetically first widgets -
Activities, ..., Application Launcher.
But I see no way to go to further widgets?

kde domain logon
by Rob Verduijn
Hello,
I've configured my fedora installation for authentication against the local ads.
It works fine on the command line
i've installed the following packages :
sssd oddjob oddjob-mkhomedir adcli samba-common samba-winbind-clients
krb5-workstation
I checked if the realm could be found
realm discover -v <realm>
Which yielded the correct info
then joined the realm with :
realm join -v -U<adminaccount> --client-software=sssd <realm>
The realm join with realms worked fine
getent passwd <realm>\<user>
yields the proper information
kinit <user>@<realm>
also works
however,
I can't seem to login to the domain using the kde login screen.
Does anybody have any ideas ?
And for bonus points, how to tell kde to show an extra field for the
domain name on the login screen.
(now it shows a field for login and one for password, I know it's
possible to show a third for the domain, but don't know how)
Cheers
Rob

race condition on fonts?
by Neal Becker
I've seen for quite some time (all through F19) that the first time I login, the
fonts used on the panel (and in some other places) are big and ugly. When I
logout/login, I get the nice small fonts I like. Smells like some kind of race
condition on startup.

after that another fool repiled with nonsense again
and again and after that you stepped in as so often
on lists with nothing on topic to say at all and
most of the time you can't remember after two
repiles in a topic who said what

Screen Edges
by Peter G.
A strange thing happened.
I opened libreoffice and plasma crashed. This is a regular occurrence
since about 10 days that I had hoped would disappear with the arrival
of kde-4.11.1, but it didn't. I closed libreoffice and tried to
switch to another virtual desktop, when I noticed that screen edges
no longer work.
I just updated the system and a new kde-workspaces came, so I thought
this just might be the fix, so I didn't worry about it. I restarted
(not off and boot) the computer, expecting everything to be fine. It
isn't.
I checked systemsettings and the edges are set to active windows and
desktop grid, but they are shown greyed out, so I thought that
somehow these effects must have become disabled. They didn't. They
are shown as enabled.
I logged out and back in. Still the same.
Ideas?
