Rawhide: cannot change settings
by Felix Miata
plasma-systemsettings is installed, but there's nothing corresponding in menu
to change desktop settings. systemsettings in Konsole generates not found.
cnf generates not found. command-not-found generates not found. Nothing
obvious searching with dnf tells what additionally might need to be installed.
How to configure desktop in Rawhide?
How to search for package to provide missing command functionality?

plasmashell memory leak?
by Roderick Johnstone
Hi
I can't remember if this issue has been mentioned before on this list
but my plasmashell now has a VIRT size of 18g and a resident size of
0.010t, according to top.
Seems a little excessive! Time to logout I suppose.

I've reached my limit with the Plasma 5 freezes. Speaking to users
who've tried alpha builds: do you think there's any hope of this
situation improving in Fedora 23? I see we're scheduled for a beta this
week. If the cause of the freezes hasn't been found yet, I'll start
making other plans for this machine.

Do you happen to use transmission or owncloud? If so, it would appear their systray icons are one source of leaks.

My only real gripe with P5 now is the amount of RAM it eats over the course of
a day.. up to almost 5 gig now and hitting swap! (8 gig on this box) uptime ~
17 hours. So kquitapp plasmashell resets it nicely.

"killall -9 drkonqi" allows me to run a KDE session. Thanks for sharing this.

I've got this freezing problem as well, with both nouveau and nvidia drivers. I'm running F23, fully up to date.
I am really, really upset with KDE for pushing this into a release (F22) when it clearly isn't ready.

Nope I don't use either of those..
You mention the systray, I use Yumex-dnf now and then and it's systray icon
has never worked in f22, not a problem for me but I'll make sure that it is
disabled and keep an eye on the RAM.

Crashes Returned
by Emilio Recio
So I have to use LXQt Desktop env because the freezing returned with the
latest update of Fedora 22:
See the txt file for the packages which were updated. Looks like the bug
was reintroduced.
This time manually setting the xorg.conf doesn't fix the problem. I even
turned off all compositing as just xrender and it still locks up my xorg
session. I have no choice than ctrl-alt-backspace ... at least that
still works!

F22/F23 KDE/Plasma freeze after login.
by linux guy
Long time Fedora user, since RH8.
I upgraded my main workstation from F21 to F22. F21 was totally stable and
great. F22 has been nothing but trouble.
The main issue I have is session freezing that appears to happen right
before the KDE (Plasma) desktop is displayed. I have this problem with
both nVidia and nouveau drivers.
The kernel seems to run fine. I can ctrl alt F3 and start a console
session and it runs fine. But I can't get a KDE (Plasma) session to run at
all.
How do I troubleshoot this ?

kcalc: forced to use the numberblock
by Reindl Harald
WTF - after upgrade to F22 and KDE5 you are forced to use the
numberblock for * and / because the normal keyboard is ignored
from which planet the upstream develoeprs are coming from?
there are millions of devices just don't have one
as it's not enough that you need to use , on a german setup for a comma
while every other software on that planet accepts a dot now we get
really funny?

Time/Clock Widget and/or Calendar Widget Does Not Display Events
by Armelius Cameron
Hello,
I just installed a fresh Fedora 22 with KDE. For some reason, the
Clock widget and Calendar does not display events from Korganizer. In
my Korganizer I have both events from Google Calendar and default
calendar. The "Digital Clock Settings" or "Calendar Settings" don't
even have any checkbox for displaying events, like in earlier version.
I am sorry if this was asked before; I've search everywhere but
couldn't come up with anything. Is there something I missed ?
Thank you,
AC.

Cursor movement logs me out
by Timothy Murphy
I wonder if anyone else experiences this?
Sometimes when I move the cursor with the pointer on my ThinkPad T510
I am apparently logged out, and have to re-enter my password.
This doesn't really worry me, as the re-entry after giving my password
takes only a second, so it is not a proper logging out.
I should say I'm running Fedora 22 with KDE-4.14.11.
