Insanity Check ;-) - kwallet
by Gerald B. Cox
Seriously, could they have made this any more confusing? ROFL...
To cut to the chase here is what I did:
dnf remove kwalletmanager
I was just getting confused about which version k4 or k5 was doing what,
hopefully
this was the way to get rid of the k4 version. If I'm missing something,
please let me know.
Now, I'm still having an issue with being prompted for my PGP key every
single time it is
being used. In the past with kwallet4 that would be handled - since the
upgrade, it hasn't.
This was happening even when I had the k4 version installed so I figured if
it wasn't helping,
get rid of it.
What am I missing on the k5 version to get it to handle PGP as it was in
the previous
version.
If it isn't yet possible, ok... I understand more people need to use before
they find all the issues, but couldn't they at least provided a gui to
configure it? I mean, really.....

plasma5 and selinux
by Ed Greshko
I was configuring openVPN and the connection was failing. Checking the journal revealed an selinux AVC was being encountered. However, unlike in F21, the setroubleshoot client tool (sealert) did not pop up and there was no indication in the systray notifications.
Is this a plasma5 shortcoming at the moment?

F22: what's wrong with system tray?
by Temlakos
System tray limits itself to volume control, Klipper, the IM app (which
I do not use), the connection icon, and a caret to look for hidden
icons. Those are: notification, battery, Bluetooth, device notifier,
printers, and software updates.
On F21, the Mozilla Firetray icons used to load on the system tray. Now,
if Thunderbird tries to minimize to the tray, it disappears completely.
Firefox won't start at all; it keeps crashing. (I've already filed a bug
against it.) I have other applications, including Skype and Deluge, that
used to have system tray icons, but I can't see them any more. I also
have an ancient password manager program (pwmanager-1.2.4-fc11) that
used to load into the system tray and now I can't see it, though
ksysguard assures me it's running.
How do I get the system tray to work as I'm used to? Or if I can't, what
am I supposed to do instead?

font preview broken?
by Glenn Holmer
I'm seeing garbage when previewing fonts in both System Settings and
kfontview (a few pixel droppings on either side of the panel, nothing
readable). This is on two different machines, one with nouveau and one
with the proprietary Nvidia driver.
Anybody else? Workarounds?

Touchpad settings are grayed out
by Sudhir Khanger
Hi,
Mouse Click Emulation in Taps and horizontal scrolling in Two-finger
scrolling are disabled in SystemSettings>Input on a freshly installed
F22 running on Thinkpad T420i.
Tapping on the touchpad can't emulate right or left click. Horizontal
scrolling is enabled by default and can't be disabled.
How do I gain back the ability to modify these options?

Plasma 5 logs every desktop switch to journal?
by Andreas Petzold
Hi,
I've just updated to F22 and I'm now using Plasma 5. Looking into the
journal I've found this:
May 27 14:16:39 vetinari org.kde.kglobalaccel[3785]: kglobalaccel-runtime:
Got XKeyPress event
May 27 14:16:39 vetinari org.kde.kglobalaccel[3785]: kglobalaccel-runtime:
"Alt+Left" = "Switch One Desktop to the Left"
May 27 14:16:39 vetinari org.kde.kglobalaccel[3785]: kglobalaccel-runtime:
Got XKeyPress event
May 27 14:16:39 vetinari org.kde.kglobalaccel[3785]: kglobalaccel-runtime:
"Alt+Left" = "Switch One Desktop to the Left"
May 27 14:16:40 vetinari org.kde.kglobalaccel[3785]: kglobalaccel-runtime:
Got XKeyPress event
May 27 14:16:40 vetinari org.kde.kglobalaccel[3785]: kglobalaccel-runtime:
"Alt+Right" = "Switch One Desktop to the Right"
How can I get rid of this? I guess this is some kind of debug output which
should not be enabled by default.
Cheers,
Andreas

kwalletmanger(5) oddity
by Ed Greshko
The Chrome browser does not yet support the Plasma 5 kwallet system. So, it is necessary to have both versions of wallet and it seems to work fine.
The one oddity that I noticed is that if you "launch wallet manager" from "System Settings" the manager for the KDE4 wallet will not stat until you open the Plasma 5 wallet. I don't know if this is by design but it is confusing.

Is kmenuedit installed? If not, install it.
