Encryption of Email Address in Knode using Gmane
by Peter G.
Perhaps a grey area topic...
I use knode to post to the list using the Gmane
server.
I have X-Archive: encrypt set in the header section of
the program configuration. My address used to come out
encrypted, but since a while (a week or 10 days,
perhaps), it no longer is encrypted.
Has anyone noticed this? I thought it might be a bug
in Fedora 24, but I am presently writing from Fedora
23, with the same result.
I see that some others' addresses are still encrypted,
but they might not be using knode.
Any ideas what might have happened?

Can't rename files on Desktop
by Alan Evans
F23, KDE, fully updated.
Everything works inside the File Manager, but if I rename a file on the
Desktop then I can no longer access it after that. Example:
Right-click on Desktop, Create New --> Folder.
Name the folder "foo".
Click on foo, opens File Manager in foo directory. Close that.
Right-click on foo, Rename. "bar"
Click on bar... Error, dialog says, "Unable to run the command specified.
The file or folder /home/alan/Desktop///foo does not exist."
(After reboot, clicking on bar works.)
Same thing happens with Create New --> Text File.
I don't use this machine often, but my wife tells me this has been
happening for a long time. The problem manifests on both of our logins.

How to add comics to the Comics Plasma Plugin
by Walter Cazzola
Dear all,
I've just installed the Comics Plasmoid under Plasma 5 on a Fedora 23
and I would like to develop some plugins for it.
I never programmed anything for Plasma and I've tried to follow the
tutorial in
https://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Plasma4/ComicPlugin
this is for Plasma 4 and many things are different starting from the
location for the plugins that now is ~/.local/share/plasma/comics
instead of ~/.kde/share/apps/plasma/comics/
I didn't try to write any code yet but I checked if I have a working
system apt to develop such kind of plugins.
So I copied and renamed an existing plugins and tried to use the testing
instructions at:
https://techbase.kde.org/Development/Tutorials/Plasma4/ComicPlugin#Testin...
but nothing seems to work.
I've tried to install the plugin with plasmapkg and plasmapkg with
similar results:
> plasmapkg -t comic -i zits.comic
Could not find a suitable installer for package of type comic
I can't say what an installer should be or where I've to find it.
This blocked me at the beginning of my work. Any suggestion?
Walter

F24 - kdepim question
by Colin J Thomson
Hi,
With the up and coming F24 beta release I wonder if anyone here is using F24
and the PIM suite, specifically Kmail as I "think" that uses Kmail 5
Any comments on how well kmail performs or any issues with it would be
appreciated. If I where to switch/test it would be with IMAP accounts.
Thanks
Colin

f24 user switching?
by Rex Dieter
I tried testing for
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1293167
today, and found user switching to be mostly broken, in that the session I
switched away from either is killed or still seems to be running, but I
cannot seem to be able to resume it.
Does kickoff -> leave -> switch user
work for anyone else?

FC23 KDE plasmashell continuously "spins" when starting any app
by Patrick Mansfield
If I click an icon to start an application, I get a spinning window thing in the
KDE panel that never goes away :-(
This uses a significant amount of CPU time:
$ ps -ef | grep /usr/bin/plasmashell ; sleep 60 ; ps -ef | grep /usr/bin/plasmashell
patman 4086 3941 29 07:45 ? 00:00:21 /usr/bin/plasmashell --shut-up
patman 4086 3941 28 07:45 ? 00:00:37 /usr/bin/plasmashell --shut-up
I have to kill plasmashell and restart it to "fix" the problem, and I've been
avoiding it by starting applications via the command line.
I removed my .kde (well, mv-ed it), and restarted with no change in behavior.
I have plasma-workspace-5.6.3-2.fc23.x86_64 installed.
This has been happening for a while, it's not a new issue for me.
I'm running in a VMWare instance (on a Mac OS X host).
My searches haven't found anything similar.
Any suggestions?
Thanks ...

Where can I find KDE version of Fedora-24beta?
by Timothy Murphy
I see that Fedora-Workstation-Live-x86_64-24_Beta-1.6.iso
is now available.
Is there a KDE version yet?
If not, when is it likely to appear?

konsole unusable
by Neal Becker
This morning I was greeted by my display settings being all messed up. I
got that straightened out, but konsole still has a problem. It comes up
with the menubar off the top edge of the screen.
I can resize and move it using the taskbar. Then I can verify 'use current
size on startup' is checked in konsole/settings/general.
But on restart, it's the same. Top is off the screen.
