F26 Desktop alternate media
by Germano Massullo
I have just heard on #fedora-ambassadors that there will be Live DVD
Media also for Fedora 26, despite it has been announced many times that
the Live Media production would have been dismissed. Since for F25 there
were no desktop alternate (live) media containing Fedora KDE Spin, I
would like to ask you if we are interested in making them for the future
F26. If yes I can fill a ticket to famsco

Qt5.9(?) konsole font corruption
by Sandro Mani
Hi
I suspect since Qt-5.9 I'm seeing garbled fonts in Konsole [1] (and also
qterminal, hence it should be unrelated to the recent kde updates).
Gnome-terminal renders fine with the same font FWIW.
Anyone else seeing this resp. narrowed down if it is indeed a Qt issue?
Thanks
Sandro

retire qt5-qtquick1 ?
by Rex Dieter
Now that Qt 5.9 has been (mostly) imported into rawhide, the topic of what
to do with qt5-quick1 came up. According to repoquery, nothing in fedora
depends on it (since f25 as far as I can tell).
Any comment or objection to considering retiring qt5-qtquick1?

State of package / update management in KDE
by Adam Williamson
Hi, folks. For QA purposes, I wanted to get some clarification on the
current status of package management and updating on KDE.
It seems that recently dnfdragora-gui was added to the KDE spin. This
has at least one, obvious, unfortunate consequence: when booting KDE
live, there's a completely out-of-place (because it's in full color,
while every other KDE systray icon is in black-and-white) permanent
'notification' icon for 'dnfdragora-updater', which doesn't seem to be
of any use in a live environment.
Beyond this: what's the actual intended shape of package management and
updates on KDE now? Is dnfdragora supposed to be responsible for all of
it, or is...some other thing...supposed to handle updating, and
dnfdragora is only supposed to be there for installing / removing?
As a reminder, this release criterion is in effect at Beta:
"The installed system must be able to download and install updates with
the default graphical package manager in all release-blocking
desktops."
and this one at Final:
"Release-blocking desktops must notify the user of available updates,
but must not do so when running as a live image."
So it'd be good to have the story here clear and be sure the criteria
are met ASAP.
Thanks!

Python2 crashes
by Patrick O'Callaghan
I've been getting this mysterious message on logging into KDE:
We're sorry, it looks like /usr/bin/python2 crashed. Please contact the developer if you want to report the issue.
It's been happening for a very long time now but I've never noticed any
consequence. All I know is that it appears in a Plasma pop-up whenever
I log in, but there are no other details. I finally got tired of it and
decided to ask if anyone else is seeing it.
Of course it may not be a KDE problem but this is as good a place as
any to start.

Packaging Kup - naming?
by Mattia Verga
I would like to package Kup [1] for inclusion in Fedora, but I'm a bit
confused about naming the package.
In Fedora repositories there's already a completely unrelated "kup"
package [2], so I cannot name this new package with it's official name.
Since Kup is born as a KCM module, I think I can name it "kcm-kup"
[3]... but there's really no package in Fedora named "kcm". In fact,
looking through the package list I can find six kcm modules, but they
are following different name schemas: the oldest three are using the "-"
separator (kcm-fcitx, kcm-gtk, kcm-qt-graphicssystem), while the newest
three use the "_" (kcm_systemd, kcm_touchpad, kcm_wacomtablet) which is
a violation of naming guidelines [4].
Another alternative could be naming it "kf5-kup" (?)
Suggestions are welcome. Thanks
Mattia
