Sound failing
by Patrick O'Callaghan
After updating a bunch of kf5 packages this morning, sound no longer
works. Using KDE under X11, the journal shows:
Jan 03 16:21:16 bree pulseaudio[11942]: [pulseaudio] socket-server.c: bind(): Address already in use
Jan 03 16:21:16 bree pulseaudio[11942]: [pulseaudio] module.c: Failed to load module "module-esound-protocol-unix" (argument: ""): initialization failed.
Jan 03 16:21:16 bree pulseaudio[11942]: [pulseaudio] main.c: Module load failed.
Jan 03 16:21:16 bree pulseaudio[11942]: [pulseaudio] main.c: Failed to initialize daemon.
Jan 03 16:21:16 bree pulseaudio[11939]: [pulseaudio] main.c: Daemon startup failed.
This repeats multiple times at regular intervals. The Plasma speaker
volume widget shows a '-' sign and apps are silent.
Using Gnome under X11, sound works correctly.
Any ideas?
