Fedora KDE 41 RC 1.3 needs testing!

Hey folks, The candidate release compose for Fedora Linux 41 was released yesterday[1], and we need YOUR help to ensure Fedora KDE is the best this cycle! Kamil Paral provided some instructions on how to do this just after Fedora Linux 41 Beta went out[2] and that guidance applies here. In particular, we *definitely* need folks testing on AArch64 with supported ARM platforms[3], notably the Raspberry Pi 4 series. Notification sound when monitor is turned on

Running Fedora 40 on a desktop system with two monitors driven from built in graphics on motherboard (no separate video card). Yesterday I installed all updates including Plasma 6.2. I've noticed that whenever I turn on a monitor I get a notification sound that I've never gotten in the past. It's basically a two tone chime. I've searched through all the notifications in the system settings app and cannot find one related to this. I can't even find the sound file with the same sound. I've had no luck with google nor KDE bugzilla. What have I missed? Where is this new notification specified? I'm assuming it has something to do with the Plasma 6.2 update. Thanks for any pointers. uBlock Origin and Firefox

All; I am running Fedora 40, and I have deployed uBlock Origin tom get rid of the google sign-in on various websites, I have added this for my filters: accounts.google.com/gsi/* norton.* https://gipeswort.xyz/* However now I keep getting popups in my KDE taskbar/panel about Norton subscriptions, viruses found, etc.. It's almost like im running windows and getting all the windows virus sales popups again. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance

Issue with locale setting on Fedora 41

Hi, I started to see this recently, since last month, when using lyx launched from the menu in Fedora KDE 41 (wayland). When I launch lyx from the menu and create a pdf using LuaTeX the compilation fails because a language is not set (that is by design). Using journalctl I see the following: lyx[87836]: Detected locale "C" with character encoding "ANSI_X3.4-1968", which is not UTF-8. Qt depends on a UTF-8 locale, and has switched to "C.UTF-8" instead. If this causes problems, reconfigure your locale. See the locale(1) manual for more information. Launching lyx from the command line, from a shell, does not have this problem and everything works normally. I would like to try to debug the cause but I am lost where to start this process? I would welcome any help on how to solve this. :-) Best regards, -- José Abílio Matos

Virtual Desktop Behaviour bug

Under System Settings> Window Management> Window Behaviour> Advanced tab I have "Virtual Desktop behaviour" set to "Bring Window to current Virtual Desktop". I've had this for a long time, as I prefer to have new browser tabs open on the current desktop when I click on a URL link, for example in an email. It's imperfect but it works for me (I have a keyboard shortcut to send the window back when I'm done with the tab). After some recent updates, this has stopped working. Such links now open unpredictably in one of the several existing browser windows running on some other virtual desktop, meaning I have to hunt for them. Has anyone else seen this? poc
