Nice try Anne, but no cigar. "English" in this context clearly refers to
the country, not the language. And of course the putative legal hiccup
with the Gmail name is extensive to all of the UK.
It was of course perfectly true for the country, though I accept the rest of
your statement :-)
Don't sweat it. I constantly nag my English friends when they do
this
(which they do all the time), just to see them look apologetic :-)
Hey, it didn't bother me. I simply hadn't thought whether it applied to
the
whole UK, but of course it was likely to. For the purpose of the explanation
it didn't seem worth careful examination :-)
I'm more careful when the statement could have some effect, but my
ramblings.....
