Kmail Won't Retrieve Mail From Gmail

I cannot retrieve mail on Gmail (using IMAP) in Kmail any more. This has worked for many years, but it failing now with Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app This app has not been verified yet by Google in order to use Google Sign In. How can I read mail with Kmail any more? -- Garry Williams
