It's related to the kernel version, but from what I see, everyone
seems to
just want to fix the symptom, and not fix the real problem.
If you are running CentOS Stream 8, the problem is much worse.[3]

I should have mentioned that I'm not using Wayland. I'm on X11 and will
stay there until Wayland gets session restore working correctly.
