not a KDE problem - just use Google
https://www.google.com/search?q=google+chrome+set+default+mailclient https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/chrome/FngTaedzxWc Go to chrome://settings/handlers
This brings up a box with no Active Protocol Handlers.... And, I
've never had to do
this before.
And this still doesn't explain why "xdg-mime default" didn't change
the settings, does it?
who said that Google Chrome care about wahtever settings there? how do other browsers actin case of mailto:-links?
How about this. Forget about a browser for a moment.
Why does xdg-email bring up kmail when I've tried to set the default to thunderbird? Why does setting the default have no effect?
how about provide some details?
Details about what?
does it affect other browsers too?
I *asked* you to forget about browser. Please do so....
I would now like to get xdg-email to bring up thunderbird and not kmail.....
So......
egreshko@meimei ~]$ xdg-mime query default 'x-scheme-handler/mailto' KMail2.desktop
Attempt to change it....and no error message is presented.
[egreshko@meimei ~]$ xdg-mime default mozilla-thunderbird.desktop 'x-scheme-handler/mailto'
[egreshko@meimei ~]$ xdg-mime query default 'x-scheme-handler/mailto' KMail2.desktop ^ * * No change....
But the file has been updated
[egreshko@meimei ~]$ cat /home/egreshko/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list [Default Applications] text/html=google-chrome.desktop; x-scheme-handler/http=google-chrome.desktop; x-scheme-handler/https=google-chrome.desktop; x-scheme-handler/mailto=mozilla-thunderbird.desktop
[egreshko@meimei ~]$ xdg-email kf5.kio.core: "preferred service for x-scheme-handler/mailto" "kmail2" <**** I don't want this....
