Hi everybody,
I have this Lenovo Yoga 920 laptop running for one or two years now. It is a nice machine, but now when corona grounded I wanted to socialise a little with my daughters by eating together on distance. But I discovered that there was no microphone input to the video conference.
I have this morning tried to install different software in order to overcome this problem, but with no luck.
If I put in a headphone there is microphone input from the headset.
I can't find any settings in the BIOS to enable or disable microphone.
How do I find out if the microphone is working at all on this laptop?

Does this help: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1772498#c205 https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Lenovo_Yoga_c940

Well, probably it is the same problem, but I didn't see any rock solid solution.
I see this in /var/log/messages: Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: ath10k_pci 0000:6b:00.0: pci irq msi oper_irq_mode 2 irq_mode 0 reset_mode 0 Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: snd_hda_intel 0000:00:1f.3: DSP detected with PCI class/subclass/prog-if info 0x040380 Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: snd_hda_intel 0000:00:1f.3: bound 0000:00:02.0 (ops i915_audio_component_bind_ops [i915]) Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0: autoconfig for ALC298: line_outs=1 (0x1a/0x0/0x0/0x0/0x0) type:speaker Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0: speaker_outs=0 (0x0/0x0/0x0/0x0/0x0) Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0: hp_outs=1 (0x21/0x0/0x0/0x0/0x0) Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0: mono: mono_out=0x0 Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0: inputs: Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0: Mic=0x18 Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: snd_hda_codec_realtek hdaudioC0D0: Internal Mic=0x12 Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: input: HDA Intel PCH Mic as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1f.3/sound/card0/input22 Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: input: HDA Intel PCH Headphone as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1f.3/sound/card0/input23 Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: input: HDA Intel PCH HDMI/DP,pcm=3 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1f.3/sound/card0/input24 Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: input: HDA Intel PCH HDMI/DP,pcm=7 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1f.3/sound/card0/input25 Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: input: HDA Intel PCH HDMI/DP,pcm=8 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1f.3/sound/card0/input26 Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: input: HDA Intel PCH HDMI/DP,pcm=9 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1f.3/sound/card0/input27 Apr 5 12:44:33 y920 kernel: input: HDA Intel PCH HDMI/DP,pcm=10 as /devices/pci0000:00/0000:00:1f.3/sound/card0/input28
which indicates for me that the system see a microphone.
