Everyone:
What happened to Apper? After I updated to F27 I never could load it again--it kept crashing.
Recently I did a fresh installation of F27 on new solid-state drives I recently bought. (My HDD was showing signs of imminent failure.) Apper didn't come installed, so I installed it. And it crashed every time.
BTW: the Discover app keeps returning "Bad GPG signature file found" errors whenever I try to install anything.
DNFDragora keeps returning some kind of Dbus error every time I try to install or upgrade something. The dnf command still works in Konsole; I simply passed "distro-sync" to get the latest version of the kernel, for example.
I'm familiar with Apper, and it used to work. But now it won't load, no matter what.

apper has been not well-maintained upstream for quite awhile... and it's showing. It currently has 1 or 2 show-stopper crash bugs unfortunately.

Discover doesn't handle auto-importing gpg keys, so I would guess you're trying to install something from a repo that hasn't had it's gpg key imported yet.
What have you tried installing (that failed) precisely?
DNFDragora keeps returning some kind of Dbus error every time I try to install or upgrade something.
If you want maintainers to look into it, please record the exact error and file a bug, thanks. (dnfdragora is probably the closest thing to replacing apper)

Unfortunately, it's a known bug already reported upstream, but not yet resolved. If you don't like using dnfdragora (I hate it) you can still use apper with a small trick: open launcher by hitting Alt-F2 and type "kcm_apper"... ;-)
