In a fresh F22/KDE install, if I maximize a konsole window (or if it starts maximized and I unmaximize it), the text in the window disappears. I can type blind, but can't get the text back. Is anybody else seeing this?

Working fine here in a Vbox VM. Could be related to your video driver?

Using Nvidia proprietary, took this morning's update. Actually, it's *all* windows that do this :(

I can confirm this :(

Which version of the nvidia driver are you using? I've not updated this desktop yet but currently running the 304xx versions.

kmod-nvidia-4.0.4-301.fc22.x86_64-346.72-2.fc22.1.x86_64
If you resize a blackened window even slightly, the contents come back as if by magic.

Thanks.... The 304xx branch (currently at kmod-nvidia-304xx-3.19.7-200.fc21.x86_64-304.125-3.fc21.7.x86_64) has always been stable for me when reports of other branches have been reported as less so.
Maybe I'll avoid that issue when I finally decide to upgrade this desktop.

os = CentOS 6.6 dt = kde 4.3.4
does the inside of window go all black or all white?
ria, last week when i brought up a GNOME Terminal 2.31.3, it started up all black inside of window.
i blinked, shook my head, closed terminal, reopened, same.
next, i clicked "Edit > Profile Preferences" and opened tabs for "Color" and "Background". all normal, closed prefs.
curiously, i moved mouse pointer to top left inside of window, pressed left mouse button, drug cursor to bottom right of window. area whitened and i saw command prompt.
i pressed <enter> several times, command prompt repeated. closed window, reopened, all was correct, black text on white background.
what happened? diik. has not happened again.
suggestion, open "Edit > Profile Preferences", check settings.

Simple solution: I reverted to the nouveau driver. It's become so good that I'm thinking the proprietary driver doesn't really give me much of an advantage anymore. If my desktop-switch cube animation, "cover switch" on alt-tab, and the oh-so-necessary wobbly windows work, I'm happy... and with nouveau, politically correct as well.
