Before I reinstalled, I had been using kdm, and I believe it worked fine.
After
reinstalling, I had the default gdm, and it didn't work. Then I switch to
kdm,
and now it's working again. I didn't try to repeat to confirm it, but I'm
pretty sure that's it.
