for that....
I use adwaita for GTK2 and GTK 3 themes
also you may install qgnomeplatform dnf install qgnomeplatform
I have gnomeplatform installed, and changed to adwaita from oxygen, but didn't do any
good.

That depends upon the icon I am selecting. When I click on the icon to change, it comes
up with a menu showing system icons and other icons. The default setting when entering is
system icons, and the pull down is on Applications. If I pick the firefox icon from
there, it appears to work, meaning that the icon appears in the Properties for
firefox.desktop - plasma. But when I go back to the Application Launcher itself, the icon
is now blank.
Now, if I pick the icon from another source, i.e. I select the Other Icons button and
browse a location... say /usr/share/icons/hicolor/48x48/apps/ it works. It's as if
something is screwed up in the system icons.
