If the license ends up being problematic, I will have to replace the library's functionality in a couple of packages. Cheers PS: Please CC: me as I am not subscribed to the list --===============4294331653324162900==-- From rfontana at redhat.com Fri Jun 5 05:02:19 2015 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="===============1337257172920820719==" MIME-Version: 1.0 From: Richard Fontana To: legal at lists.fedoraproject.org Subject: Re: [Fedora-legal-list] AFPL license Date: Wed, 21 Nov 2012 22:03:42 -0500 Message-ID: <20121122030342.GA10838@redhat.com> In-Reply-To: 1353522848.29366.14.camel@novo --===============1337257172920820719== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable On Wed, Nov 21, 2012 at 07:34:08PM +0100, Bastien Nocera wrote: > Heya, > = > The libmusicbrainz5 package in Fedora uses sources for the > musicbrainz.org project, and contains the xmlParser.cpp and xmlParser.h > files which say: > = > * Copyright (c) 2002, Business-Insight > * Business-Insight > * All rights reserved. > * See the file "AFPL-license.txt" about the licensing terms > = > Apart from the fact that the license file is missing (Christophe, can > you go and tell upstream about this?), it seems that this refers to the > Aladdin Free Public License: > http://www.artifex.com/downloads/doc/Public.htm > = > This license isn't in the list at: > https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Licensing:Main?rd=3DLicensing > And I don't know whether it is a free license, = It is not a free software license. - RF --===============1337257172920820719==--
