boot update?
by ToddAndMargo
Hi All,
I have a cherried out Live USB I use at customer sites. It gives
me a bad time booting on some systems, especially ones with Supermicro
motherboards. HP always boots.
Is there a way I can update the boot portion on the stick with
the latest utilities to see if that helps? Or, do I have to wipe
and start over?
And, to do a back up in case things go wrong, can I use "dd"
to backup and restore?
Many thanks,
-T

Need help with space issues
by ToddAndMargo
Hi All,
This is a 16 GB EXT4 FC21 Live USB with persistence.
Not sure why I have run out of space:
# yum install ntfsprogs
...
Total download size: 574 k
...
At least 2MB more space needed on the / filesystem.
# df -kPT
Filesystem Type 1024-blocks Used Available Capacity
Mounted on
/dev/mapper/live-rw ext4 3030800 3002320 0 100% /
devtmpfs devtmpfs 1004556 0 1004556 0% /dev
tmpfs tmpfs 1024748 68 1024680 1% /dev/shm
tmpfs tmpfs 1024748 664 1024084 1% /run
tmpfs tmpfs 1024748 0 1024748 0%
/sys/fs/cgroup
/dev/sda1 ext4 15264688 1562576 12903648 11%
/run/initramfs/live
tmpfs tmpfs 1024748 36 1024712 1% /tmp
varcacheyum tmpfs 1024748 716772 307976 70%

vartmp tmpfs 1024748 12 1024736 1% /var/tmp
tmpfs tmpfs 204952 8 204944 1%
/run/user/1000
Seems like I have space everywhere, except live-rw (which is always
full). What am I missing and where do I go to make space? Is it
time for a larger stick?
Many thanks,
