I had the same question as you possibly have. I got no reply from
this list. I think you need to just look at the scripts that are
in kadischi and see where it picks up the vmlinuz and initrd
stuff. You will have to possibly modify that script to pick
it up from other than /boot on your box.

Also, you will need to have a squashfs enabled kernel built.
i.e. your kernel will in addition to your customizations, also
need the squashfs stuff. Fedora Core 5 ships with squashfs
enabled kernel. If you have downloaded your kernel from
kernel.org (to which you have made your customisations),
it is most likely that it will not have squashfs stuff
in it. You will then have to rebuild the kernel package with
your new kernel and add it to the repo which is used by
kadischi.

I am also in the process of making similar changes. Will let
you know when I am successful.
