[magazine] Fedora personal progress stories
by S.Kemter
Hi,
During FUDCon APAC in Phnom Penh we came together and had time to speak
about some problems we facing in the region. One problem the region has,
except India where the situation is entirely different is, that the people
dont see the value in contributing to FOSS project, what includes us.
People in China and South East Asia are more interesting in making money,
thats why they engage more in projects that are direct related to business,
that is why Google with his Developer Group as well with Techstars the
organization the StartUp weekends has more success. It is really hard to
explain them, that they can improve their skills and improve their cv
through contributing to an FOSS project.
So Brian came up with an idea which could help us, the idea is to search
for people who had success through contributing to Fedora and publish their
story to give good examples to follow them. I think that will help not just
APAC alone.
I think the Fedora Magazine could be the right place to publish this
success stories.
So what you think? Can we find several people, who had success with
contributing to a FOSS project in their personal life?

Like many Americans, I'll be celebrating a USA holiday a week from
tomorrow. Any suggestions on what we should do about the editorial board
meeting?

[magazine] Dropping the in subject
by Paul W. Frields
Can we drop this tag on all list emails? All clients offer ways to
filter email from lists. In some readers, this tag makes it harder to
read the actual subject line to tell what the message is about. IIRC
common Fedora netiquette is to not use this tag.
By the way, you can use the header List-Id to filter easily. You can
use the term "list:magazine@lists.fedoraproject.org" in Gmail's
filters as well. Most other web based email UIs have similar
functions.

[magazine] "How to play Minecraft in Fedora" for review
by Justin W. Flory
Hey all,
The article for this Wednesday, "How to play Minecraft in Fedora", is
completed and ready for review. You can find it here.
https://fedoramagazine.org/?p=15131&preview=1&_ppp=5bed71a071
I would definitely appreciate someone taking a look at this since I
wrote this article from memory. I made some assumptions about GNOME
desktop applications that I don't think are a problem, but it would be
nice to have a +1 on it or feedback if there are more effective methods
than what I used.
I also borrowed heavily from the featured image from the September 2015
article on Spigot + Fedora, so the artwork isn't too original… if
someone wanted to do something more unique, I definitely wouldn't say no. :)
Thanks all!

Hi Courtney, I saw you had done another round of editing. The article
looks great, and it's scheduled to publish on Monday at 0800 UTC.
