[PITCH] Tell us your 2017 Year in Review
by Justin W. Flory
Hi all,
I created a new draft for an article I would like to schedule in the
next week, "Tell us your 2017 Year in Review". I revived this from
writing about two years ago instead of starting fresh, and I appreciate
an editorial pass too.
A draft is available here:
https://fedoramagazine.org/?p=19709&preview=1&_ppp=369e64d057
It takes from this post here:
https://fedoramagazine.org/what-is-a-fedora-year-in-review/
Even though it is more "community-facing", my intent is to reach a wider
audience (for example, in 2015, we had a team I never knew existed write
an article and they attributed hearing about the opportunity from the
Magazine post).
Is it possible to schedule this in the next week? The CommBlog companion
article publishes on Monday, so any time after then is fine. Thanks!
[[ Also, side note, it would be super cool to get a Year in Review from
the Magazine too, after our 3 million record breaker!! ]]

Cheers,
Justin W. Flory

Social Media Update
by Brian Exelbierd
Hi All,
Brian Proffitt maintains a tracking sheet on Fedora Social Media accounts. We are getting close to 100,000 Twitter followers.
An article rounding up our social media and communications would be a cool idea. I can help collaborate on this, but cannot be solely responsible for it.
Anyone interested?
regards,
bex

Pitch: schedule tasks using "at" on Fedora
by Shivkumar Ople
Summary: schedule tasks for later execution (ex: run a script) using at command.
Description: being able to schedule a task for later execution, during the administration of a system is a crucial ability: to run a particular script or
schedule any other job.
Unlike cron, with 'at', we are able to execute a command or script.
After reading this article, reader will be able to install at, configure, execute and manage the scheduled jobs.

Meltdown article typo
by Alessio Ciregia
There is a typo. It should be "bodhi updates download --builds
kernel-4.14.11-200.fc26" and not "4.11.14-200", isn't it?
In addition, for Fedora 27, even if it is not mentioned in the article, the
command should be: "bodhi updates download --builds
kernel-4.14.11-300.fc27", right?
Ciao,
Alessio

2017 Magazine stats roundup!
by Ryan Lerch
As stickster posted mid last month, we met our goal of 3 million pageviews
in the middle of December, but now the year has finished, here are some
quick stats from the year:
* Total Pageviews for the year were 3,146,343
* Best month was November, with 389,554 pageviews
* Best week was the week of Monday November 13, with 160,105 pageviews
* Best day was November 14 with 43,140 pageviews
* Our average pageviews per day was 8,620. The releases help, bump this up
of course, but the averages for each month have been trending up in the
latter part of the year:
** Jan - 7,666 average pageviews / day
** Feb - 7,470 average pageviews / day
** Mar - 7,624 average pageviews / day
** Apr - 7,552 average pageviews / day
** May - 7,003 average pageviews / day
** Jun - 6,639 average pageviews / day
** Jul - 11,826 average pageviews / day
** Aug - 9,057 average pageviews / day
** Sep - 7,482 average pageviews / day
** Oct - 9,345 average pageviews / day
** Nov - 12,985 average pageviews / day
** Dec - 8,686 average pageviews / day
Anyone have any thoughts on our goal for this year? We have been steadily
trending up since we started tracking stats on the magazine:
** 2013 - 2,641
** 2014 - 666,601
** 2015 - 1.9 million
** 2016 - 2.3 million
** 2017 - 3.1 million
cheers,
ryanlerch
