Status for today
by Paul Frields
I've edited Alexander's article and it's ready to publish, minus a
featured image. I'm hoping that Ryan or someone can whip one up,
because I'm in all-day conference and then I have to run AFK
immediately at closing for the remainder of the evening.
I won't be able to make the meeting, and emailed Ryan to ask him to
chair in my absence. You can feel free to assign me an article and/or
other tasks.
We should also have a plan for how to cope with Flock making some of
us harder to reach for about a week or so, 1.5 weeks from now.

Reworking article
by Paul W. Frields
Hi Davide,
The Magazine editorial board reviewed the pitch/draft you submitted to
the Magazine about PMF. We liked the idea that this content helps
users solve a problem they may run into if they upgrade to Fedora 28.
However, it was also very detailed in ways that will probably deter
readers from reading the article.
Could you rework this article to be simpler, and eliminating some of
the unnecessary technical details? We don't assume all users are
stupid. But on the other hand, readers have a limited attention span
according to our metrics, so the Magazine aims for higher readability,
and articles that focus on their problem and how to solve it.
Let us know what you think.

Article editing
by Paul W. Frields
Hi Eric,
The Magazine editorial board liked your article topic of setting up a
Fedora router. However, there are some issues we'd like to work with
you on fixing. Some of these are noted in the article in boldface.
Can you take a look, try to address these issues, and then let us know
here on our list (or on IRC #fedora-magazine) when you're ready to
have us look again?
Also, if you have any questions about the comments, please feel free
to contact us anytime. We're here to help you, and look forward to
hearing back.

Joining the Fedora Magazine team
by Alexander Tolstoy
Hello everyone!
I also wish to get on board and write for Fedora Magazine. My acquaintance
with this Linux distro dates back to the very first version of Fedora Core
1 in fall of 2003 and continued (although with interruptions) up to the
current Fedora 28 release. I'm a tech journalist, not a developer, but
through the past years I've collected a solid background of writing about
open source software, and my Fedora installation has often been a testbed
for it. Since 2010 I write for Linux Format, in which I currently head the
Hotpicks section.
I've got a lot of proposals, both fun and serious, about amusement and
productivity apps that fall into certain groups. I can't immediately write
about several apps of the same kind for Hotpicks, but I can possibly do
brief how-tos for Fedora Magazine. Here's an example:
Add some fun, color and tech drama to your terminal with No More Secrets
<https://github.com/bartobri/no-more-secrets>, Lolcat
<https://github.com/busyloop/lolcat>, Chafa
<https://github.com/hpjansson/chafa> and Browsh
<https://github.com/browsh-org/browsh>.
The serious part may be about, say, converting your ext4 partition to
btrfs, or xfs, or whatever without loosing data. It's not a fiction
<https://github.com/cosmos72/fstransform>!
So, I humbly think I can be helpful for Fedora users...

Comment Approval Error
by Matthew Kenney
Hi Fedora Mag,
My coauthor Justice and I just published our article, "Install an NVIDIA GPU on almost any machine" earlier today, and a couple of comments are coming in that I'd like to address. I am receiving emails about the comments with links to approve, discard, etc., but an error results when I click on any of these links and log in. I also cannot approve any of the comments by logging into my fedora mag wordpress account normally. Is there a new commenting system in place that could be causing this? Any info would be great.
Also, I was wondering if there was a solution found to listing coauthors, as I'm still not showing up as an author on our article.
Thanks for the help!
Best,
Matt
