Specific hardware article
by Stuart D. Gathman
After about 2 days effort, I got my pinebook64 functional. Fedora 30 does
not quite work out of the box. I thought about writing an article to
maybe save someone a lot of time, but I can see two drawbacks:
1) don't want to seem to be selling a product
2) the product in question will be obsolete next year, with a new SoC no
less creating an entirely new set of problems. :-)
So maybe I should just put it on my blog.

Typo in Kernel Test Day article?
by Alessio
Sorry, I'm late. In the Kernel Test Day article it is stated that
"The kernel team is working on final integration for kernel 5.1"
Shouldn't it be 5.2?
Ciao,
A.

Re: Unexpected article
by Paul Frields
Restoring our group mailing list to the discussion. I think the overall
editor concern is the article doesn't appear to have any Fedora angle, and
mainly serves to advertise a tutorial on your site. That's not the sort of
content we tend to look for.
Is there a different article you could have in mind that would be more
relevant to Fedora, such as exploring the blockchain toolkit available in
the distribution?

Unexpected article
by Paul Frields
Hi,
We received an article in the Magazine which looks like it hasn't
followed the usual steps for contribution:
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/fedora-magazine/contributing/
We also noticed the content seems to mostly consist of offsite links
to your site. This is not the kind of content we usually promote. If
you're interested to write for us, please get in touch and we'll be
happy to help you get started. The article will be placed in our
holding pen for the time being while we look forward to hearing from
you.

Article draft
by Paul Frields
Hi Suruchi,
The editors ran across your new podman draft. Thank you for the
contribution. However, we had been interested not in this content, but
rather in an article talking about using podman to replace
docker-compose. We thought that would be more compelling content.
Are you still planning to work on that article?

Hosted WordPress for Fedora Magazine
by Jason Brooks
Hi all --
My name is Jason Brooks and I work with Red Hat's Open Source Program
Office. Paul Frields asked me to look into migrating Fedora Magazine
to a WordPress instance on OSPO's WP Engine account.
I've set up an instance at https://fedoramag.wpengine.com and would
appreciate your feedback. You can reach the wp console via
https://fedoramag.wpengine.com/wp-admin.
Paul asked me about the schedule for WP Engine wordpress updates.
Their update process is outlined at
https://wpengine.com/support/wordpress-updates/, but the TLDR is that
when a new Wordpress version is released, WP Engine tests the update
and then pushes it out automatically, typically within a few weeks.
They send out a notification of the pending updates, and you can opt
to defer these updates, or to apply them more earlier. If a security
update is released, they push it out right away, and without the
option to defer. We host a few other sites on WPEngine, and the
updates process has been smooth.
WPEngine does not update plugins automatically, although they just
began a beta of a service that does handle this. I haven't tested that
service yet.
Let me know if you have any questions or feedback.
Regards, Jason
