Question about Approving Comments
by Gregory Bartholomew
I've been randomly checking the magazine's dashboard and approving comments
as part of my editor duties, but I saw one from Paul that has me wondering
if maybe I should be rejecting more of them.
Paul said something to the effect of "this isn't a support forum". And that
makes sense to me -- we don't necessarily want all the problems advertised
on the magazine. At the same time though, I have rejected some comments
just because they were low information, excessively critical/negative, and
repeated what had already been stated (in a better way) by others. But then
the commenter sent another comment complaining/asking why his/her comment
had been rejected. I think Red Hat's motto is "be open", so I'm not quite
sure how to handle some of these situations.
I think it would be a nice feature if there were an option to have the
rejection message say something like "Please direct support-related posts
to https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/". Maybe such a feature exists and
I'm not aware of it?
Just tying to make sure that I am handling this part of the job properly.
Thanks.

Writer credentials for Nick
by s40w5s@gmail.com
Hello Adam, Paul, and Ben,
I was wanting to communicate with the author of #172 article for Fedora
Magazine, but he is not in the drop down list of users available to
assign to an article yet. Can one of you please get Nick set up as a
contributor on the Taiga instance we use?
Best regards,
Stephen

Heads up: Changing image generation script
by Ben Cotton
Hi everyone,
I wanted to let you know that I'll be changing the Makefile in the
fedoramagazine-images repo to work with Inkscape 1.0. A few of the
flags we use to generate the images have changed in the 1.0 release.
Inkscape 1.0 is available in F31 and F32, as well as Flathub. Since
Fedora 30 (which still has 0.92) is EOL in about a week and a half, I
don't feel bad leaving it in the cold.
I opened a PR against the repo if anyone wants to provide comment:
https://pagure.io/fedoramagazine-images/pull-request/106
I'll merge this tomorrow unless this breaks things horribly for anyone.
Thanks,
BC

Pieces of Fedora Silverblue
by Ben Cotton
Nick,
I took a pass at combining two of your Silverblue articles into a single
article as we discussed earlier today:
https://fedoramagazine.org/?p=31001&preview=1&_ppp=0550e7e4ed
This was a pretty deep surgery at times, so I won't list all of the edits I
made. Here's the high-level view:
* I tried to organize it into a logical flow, the headers should make this
clear
* Most of the content comes directly from your two articles (sometimes
re-ordered from where you originally had them), but I did insert a few
sentences here and there to fix the flow
* I added a little more to the end to give it a soft landing
I'm happy to discuss any questions on-list or in #fedora-magazine (I'm
generally around from 1300-2100 UTC, give or take). If you don't have any
objections, I'll get this scheduled for Friday morning. If you do have
objections, we'll converge on an agreeable solution.
Thanks,
BC

Hello Editors, Members and Coordinators of Fedora Magazine
I'm writing this E-Mail about the following TOPICS:
.-
https://fedoramagazine.org/mind-map-yourself-using-freemind-and-fedora/
Specially for Freemind, for whatever reason this one was removed from
the fedora repos a while ago for being orphaned or decreed....
I'm using Freeplane for time ago, is quite useffull and a has lot of
functionality, doesn't require a lot of effort to install and is a JAVA
app..
The useful will be as usual:
1.- What is freeplane
2.- Features
3.- ScreenShot
4.- How to install it or Updated it
5.- How to Create a Short cut in gnome-shell to launch the applications
If you're interesting just give me access to the TAIGA board to create
the CARD, I'm @hhlp there and ping me... I'm also in wordpress...
Regards.,

Hello! I am looking to contribute.
by Jason Paciella
Hello, I hope everybody here is doing well,
I am a high school student who is looking to contribute to the Fedora
Magazine. I have a lot more free time now, and I decided a good way to
use it would be to give back to the Fedora Project. I apologize if this
is the wrong place to introduce myself, I am pretty sure the /Getting
Access/ part of the wiki meant here.
I have been using Linux since I was twelve, and I have been using
Fedora specifically for maybe one or two years. There was also a brief
period where I used Gentoo, it was a pretty enjoyable experience, but I
have since switched back to Fedora, and I do enjoy it.
I look forward to contributing to the Fedora Magazine!
