Hi William,
Is there a .desktop file in /usr/share/xsession for Openbox? I found
instructions for this at
https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2920
I just tried it myself and after rebooting the computer an option for
Openbox now shows in the GDM Desktop Session list. Hope this helps.
