Re: GNOME 3?

I think its a pretty good idea. It also could point out how Fedora is state
of the art and features Gnome Shell ready for you to try out.

Do we want to do anything with this (might make a good Fedora Insight
article or articles)? Possibly sync publicity efforts with the GNOME
folks if they're planning things? Imo, this may be a good opportunity to
showcase how the upstream/downstream ecosystem works in open source.
Some notes from Paul: "The most visible part is the GNOME Shell, the
preview of which works in Fedora 12, to varying degrees based on whether
you have a 3D capable video card. On most ATI Radeon cards it's working
well, on Nouveau not at all (using NVidia proprietary drivers, however,
works). Someone with an Intel card that's 3D capable in F12 would need
to check it. Just 'yum install gnome-shell' and then use the Desktop
Effects preferences tool to try it out."
I've just done this (took me about 2 minutes) and it's pretty spiffy so far.

I dont know about my marketing level or type. But i do know enough about marketing, like how to present or represent packages, how to attract people towards your product or how find comstumers need. Well i guess its just an intro so i should keep it short and to the point :)

I've mentioned this before on the mktg-list - is there any possible
way that we could take advantage of press presence at the event and do
a mini-interview session or panel or presentation of some sort (with
shiny press kits, of course!)? F13 will have been out for about a
month prior to RH Summit; it would be a great time to reinvigorate
press / analysts and keep the train of coverage flowing. It would also
be a great time to work on trying to educate press on some of the
"oopsies" that have been made (on their part).

Marketing FAD

Mel says there isn't nearly enough email from me on this list.
I'll be attending the Marketing FAD - travel is negligible for me as I
am within driving distance. A room would be cool though if budget
remains.

Marketing FAD budget update - we've allocated everything.
by Mel Chua
I believe we've just about taken care of our FAD budget,
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Marketing_FAD_2010#Budget.
* All plane tickets have been booked: $1622.54
* Hotel rooms have been room-mated and budgeted-for: $1200 (this is an
overestimate - we'll find the final number when I grab us a block of
rooms, hopefully tomorrow.)
* And the other travel expenses that are non-plane are scoped out as
well: $118.00
In total, we're up to $2940.54 out of $3k. Not bad! I'll adjust this
number when I book hotel rooms for us, we might have a bit more buffer
than indicated.
But basically, we've allocated our budget, and we're nicely set. w00t.
