[in the news]: Fedora Uses YubiKey for Strong Two-Factor Authentication - IT News Online
by Jonathan Nalley
"The Fedora Project, a Red Hat sponsored and community-supported open
source collaboration, has integrated support into its infrastructure
services for YubiKey, the open source authentication key by Yubico.
The YubiKeys are also used by Fedora’s core team members for securing
access to high security hosts....One of the fundamental principles of
the Fedora Infrastructure team is their dedication to Fedora's stance
on freedom. In short, the team only uses, produces, and deploys 100%
free and open source software for these services. Fedora contributors
are thus able not only to have immediate access to free software
services, but are also able to contribute to their continual
improvement.
'The YubiKey is backed by a free software stack and can be used
agnostically with other free software, making it well-suited for the
rest of the Fedora team's processes,' says Mike McGrath, Red Hat
engineer and leader of the Fedora Infrastructure team."

MMM. Marketing Meeting Minutes - delicious! 2010/10/19
by Robyn Bergeron
A great big THANK YOU to those of you who submitted photos for One
Page Release Notes. (If you're curious, you can check out the photos
here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Marketing_photos) We'll be
integrating these in a few days into the final version of the notes.
We still need a bit of help finishing up the content on the one page
release notes. If you're interested, hop on the wiki and lend a hand
here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/F14_one_page_release_notes. We
mostly need a hand with typing up some of the content around sysadmin,
end user, and developer features.

Peter -- sorry to hear that. A couple points I wanted to make:
* We have a talking point currently listed for the Mobility spin. It
makes sense to me for the Marketing team to change that to simply
mention inclusion of some software from the MeeGo project in Fedora,
without reference to a spin at this time.
* Are you interested in using the upcoming FUDCon in Tempe to
evangelize for Mobility, Sugar, etc.? I think it'd be a good
opportunity since we'll have student attendees from ASU.
* Are there specific tasks laid out somewhere that the Board and
contributors like myself could point out to someone who wanted to
help, like a blocker bug list, wiki page, or something like that?
I'd love to bring some more hands in to help, and it's super-helpful
if I can point them to a list like that.

Hello from México, and some ideas.
by Jesús Franco
Hello, farsighted designers of our marketing strategy.
I have a really vague idea about Marketing, and i'll be lurking on the
list for some months until i get reality of how could i contribute
something specific at your mission. By the way, i want you know me and
some ideas i want to share.
My name is Jesús E. Franco Martínez and i'm a recent Fedora Ambassador
from México. I joined Fedora because i have a project, named "Educar
en Libertad" in which i'm spreading the word not about just software
freedom, but a real OpenSource education too much necessary for
breaking down the barriers of ignorance, poverty and hopeless.
I've found in Fedora the best FOSS project for contributing and
growing in knowledge to outreach more effectively my people.
I work as teacher at an k12 school in a suburb of Mexico City, and i'm
currently doing some translations on the wiki and a couple of
guides. Also, i'm co-working with people of edusol.info (at the UNAM,
our biggest university), writing the contents of an introductory
course to GNU/Linux for illiteracy on ICT folks.
I have another project too with Máirín Duffy and Tatica (maybe soon we
join some brazillian folks) to translate the Mizmo's lessons of
Inkscape and deliver it as an online or presencial workshops. I've not
finished the translations and maybe i won't be able to deliver it with
the edusol people, but anyway this could be a fine start for a project
in draft for a Fedora School on FLOSS tools for Fedora users and
collaborators.
I think it could be a great way to share with people as Edna Rheiner
and Damaris Trujillo from Guatemala who has made an awesome work with
girls of Junkabal: http://www.fedora.org.gt/
Finally, i want to share with you some ideas borrowed from my mentor
Tatica, about her idea for Fedora Social Network, mixed with my own
experience as user of a social network developed by RiseUp Networks,
Crabgrass:
Please take a look:
http://tzkmx.wordpress.com/2010/10/14/cool-and-useful-fedora-social-netwo...
I hope some of these ideas can be useful for the team, anyway i'm open
to any kind of feedback (seriosly, any kind) ;)
In solidarity, and in love of our core values:
Freedom, Friends, Features, First

will there be an official announcement \out these updates when F14
gets released? it is a noteworthy addition and it shows we have done
collaboration with a proejct in a totally different field;
open/copyleft hardware.
