Hello there,
My name is Braden Faulkner.
I live in Kirkland, Illinois and I'm a Student at HHU.
My goals in the Fedora Project are to join the ambassador team, help spread
the word and promote fedora and advertise so, the general public can become
aware of the Fedora Project. Overall, my goal is to increase the number of
people using fedora from day to day.
I like to talk about Linux, Open Source, Android, Fedora and generally
anything that has to do with Electronics and Computers, especially
Programming/Coding.
In Fedora I would like to see a Customized Gnome look that would make it a
little more modern, similar to what the OpenSolaris project has done.
Something else I'd like to do is design large billboard ads or bus/bench ads
that would be eye catching and creative. Launching an ad campaign would be
something broader I may also want to do with these ads.
I have some marketing qualification. I have taken both a
computer business course and a mainstream business course. I also,
have participated in many (video) commercial making
projects.
In the past I have worked on (video) commercial projects, creating posters
and presentations (Keynotes, PowerPoints, OO.org etc.).

Fedora 14: haven for Ubuntu's homeless GNOMEs

Fedora 14, released Tuesday, has quite a bit of new stuff under the hood
- things you probably won't notice most unless you're a systems admin or
use Fedora for development.
For Fedora this is business as usual and, many would argue, the way it
should be. After all, the latest UI bling is useless if the underlying
system isn't delivering the tools you need on a rock solid foundation.
It also makes a nice contrast to Canonical's Ubuntu, which has a habit
of taking Fedora's upstream contributions, wrapping them in a prettier
package and stealing the limelight. There's nothing wrong with that,
it's the nature of open source software - you can do what you want with
it. It's just that Fedora rarely ends up getting the credit it deserves
for making desktop Linux as usable as it has become over the years.

Web redesign blog

Hello all,
The new web redesign of fedoraproject.org looks amazing. We highlighted
it in yesterday's Fedora 14 press release that Red Hat issued
(http://www.redhat.com/about/news/prarchive/2010/fedora14.html), but I
think it also merits a separate standalone blog on press.redhat.com. The
redesign was a combined effort across multiple groups within Fedora and
I'd like to highlight all of the work put into this project and point
out some of the cool new features on the site.
Would anyone on the Marketing team be interested in working with me to
draft a blog on the web redesign?

Fedora 14 (Laughlin) Released

Yesterday afternoon, right on schedule, the Fedora Project
<http://fedoraproject.org/> released Fedora 14, aka "Laughlin". The
Release Announcement

"What's New" look at the release (which saves me having to repeat it
here), and the Release Notes
<http://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/Fedora/14/html/Release_Notes/index.html>
provide extensive details on this release.
From what I can tell so far it is, as expected and as usual, a very
good distribution. I have downloaded the 32- and 64-bit versions, and
installed it without problem so far on systems with Intel, AMD/ATI and
VIA cpus and graphic controllers, and Intel, Broadcom and Atheros wired
and wireless network interfaces. The only special requirement I have run
into so far is that the Broadcom WiFi adapter has to be downloaded from
the Fedora Unity <http://fedoraunity.org/> web site. This is a very
simple procedure, which I described previously in a post about Fedora 14
Beta
