Plugin vote
by Chris A. Roberts
Hey Guys,
I just wanted to through this out and see what the thought was on this.
JZB brought up his posts were missing and over the weekend I did some digging. I can not find the post anywhere, in the MySql database I could not find any traces of his post as well. I figured I would look there since we had some data corruption when I rebuilt the site back in December. This is what I came back to him with:
1. Someone might have deleted the post, Highly doubtful
2. When the migration happened something got corrupted in the datebase, but i would have saw traces of that.
3. A plugin deleted it somehow.
I have found this plugin:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/audit-trail/
It keeps track of who does what when in the site. There might be other posts that are missing but I have not kept track of my old ones and I am sure some of the others have not either. When I moved the site to a medium gear, we only lost 5 posts, but everything remained intact. The site backups each night at 8 PM EST offsite.
-1 or +1
Thanks,
Chris Roberts

Re: Plugin Vote
by Chris A. Roberts
I installed the plugin on the staging instance and it had some errors in the logs talking to MySql and the dashboard looked odd, which probably was related to the plugin not being updated in over a year.
So I found this one which was just updated last week and has 5 stars where the other one only had 4, plus this one actually keeps track of more stuff.
https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-security-audit-log/screenshots/
I have it installed, at the staging instance if you want to come do things and change stuff so we can see it in action.
http://stg.fedoramagazine.org
If it passes a few weeks in the staging instance then we can move it over to production.
Thanks,

Re: Branding within fedora
by Chris Collings
Thank you Jaroslav this answered my query. I like the idea of generic logos on the desktop. It would be interesting to see if anyone else in the marketing team would be keen on branding the wallpaper.

Re: Branding within fedora

Yes Jiri, I agree it could be a question for the design team. However as part of the marketing team I would be keen to suggest having at least "Fedora" on the background.
As regular linux users we would see a background and recognise which distro it is likely to be (the most popular ones).
For people New to linux it is good for fedora to be labelled so they know what to look for if they like it.

Branding within fedora
by Chris Collings
I have been using Fedora at home for about 18 months now. So when I offered to set up a few computers for a local voluntary organisation, Fedora 20 was the obvious choice.
The PCS will be used by over 60 people who would otherwise not have access to a computer. There will also be a couple of blog posts highlighting our new service on our blog. This may in turn lead to some coverage in the local press.
My question is: Has there been a reason why there isn't a branded wallpaper included in Fedora? I use for at home and lxde for the voluntary group.
I will find a way to get the brand name on the computer screens for the blog coverage. Because without Fedora, setting up internet access would have been beyond our budget.
