Sharing blog posts
by Anisha Narang
Hi everyone,
Since I was volunteering at FUDCon APAC 2015 held at Pune and got a
chance to interact with a lot of folks from Fedora community, just
thought of sharing my recent blog[1] about GHC with everyone. This might
not have anything to do with fedora but surely might bring some light to
the thought of increasing women participation/contribution in the
community.
Moreover to make it relevant to the fedora lists, I shared my experience
at FUDCon APAC 2015 here[2] and thus sharing that one as well.
These were the mailing lists where I have done very few interactions in
the past, so just thought of addressing it to them.
Any feedback/comments appreciated.
Thanks :)

[Magazine] Slight schedule change
by Justin W. Flory
Hey all,
Slight change to the schedule we came up with last week. The Elections
article is ready and scheduled for tomorrow, but between packing and
traveling, I didn't get a chance to finish the Picard article. In the
meanwhile, I scheduled Ryan's supplemental wallpaper article to go out
on Tuesday.
Since Ryan's article is covering for Picard this week, I'm hoping to
have it scheduled for the first week in January. It will also give me
more time to write a comprehensive article like I wanted. Just wanted to
provide a heads-up.
Thanks all!

Three articles ready: Elections, Cinnamon, Security Lab
by Justin W. Flory
Hey all,
Three new articles are reviewed and ready for final approval before
being published.
== 2015 Elections Retrospective by Fedora CommOps ==
Article finished, content should be ready for Monday publish date,
pending final review by decause. Also, featured image is still needed.
* https://fedoramagazine.org/?p=11258&preview=true
== Installing the Fedora Cinnamon Spin ==
Article finished, featured image is ready. Needs final approval by
lailah / Kohane. Also, I would like for another experienced editor to
review this article for content and make sure there isn't anything taboo
that is mentioned (it covers a lot of things, but it's organized pretty
well, so it should just take a quick read-through).
* https://fedoramagazine.org/?p=10957&preview=true
== Fedora Security Lab - hack yourself! ==
Article finished, featured image is ready. Needs final approval by
Davinia, other reviews by other editors welcome. It also seemed like
someone else on the list had knowledge about the Security Spin - now
would be the time to take a look and offer thoughts and opinions. :)
* https://fedoramagazine.org/?p=11217&preview=true
Once the last two articles are approved, they can be scheduled for
deeper into the holiday times as scheduled. The Elections article can be
scheduled as soon as it has some kind of featured image.
Thanks all! For those about to enter into holiday mode, have a good
holiday, stay safe and warm. :)

Nuntius Post
by Ryan Lerch
Hi all,
Just an update on the nuntius post:
After trying again to get nuntius working on my machine with my phone, i
can't seem to get it working, :(
So i have to move this one into the holding pen for now -- i have some
of the content written, so once i figure out what is going on with
nuntius, i should be able to finish this one off later.
To apoligise for not getting this one done, i have written up a quick
post about how to install the supplemental backgrounds for fedora, and
it is in pitches.
jflory, feel free to edit this one, and post it when needed over the
holidays :)
cheers,

[Magazine] WordPress time zone change
by Justin W. Flory
Hey all,
It came up in #fedora-mktg tonight that the Magazine's time zone was set
to US Eastern as the default time zone. Since obviously not everyone
involved with the Magazine is in US Eastern, Patrick and I agreed to set
it to UTC to make it synonymous with other Fedora apps.
Keep this in mind when scheduling posts in the future. :)

[Social Media] Fedora Magazine/Fedora Community Blog Updates?
by Brian Proffitt
All:
A while back I was notified that there was no need for me to schedule
tweets of new content from Fedora Magazine, as that was done automatically.
Lately, though, I have noted that this does not seem to be consistently
working. Is this something I can do?
Also, I have seen little consistency in the Fedora Community Blog content
getting out on social media. I can handle that as needed, too.
Thoughts?

[Magazine] Update: 2016 meeting times
by Justin W. Flory
Hey all,
A few weeks ago, we were looking at adjusting the meeting time for 2016
Magazine editorial board meetings. You can see the results here.
http://whenisgood.net/fedora/marketing/2016/magazinemtg/results/3s8wgxg
If you look, the timeslot on Thursday, 22:00 UTC (i.e. the current
meeting time), worked best for the most people, except for me. With that
in mind, I did some playing around with my schedule, and I was actually
able to drop the class I was going to take in that time period in favor
of an independent study for Open Source Journalism (something way more
interesting anyways and gets me the same credit).
As a result, continuing the meeting at the current time seems to be in
the best interest of everyone for 2016. See you all at today's meeting!
