[Magazine] Picard article scheduled - review appreciated

Self introduction - fale

Hi, I'm fale, a Fedora user, ambassador and packager. You can find basic information about me on my Wiki page [0], so I'll not repeat those. I'd like to help out more in the marketing side, because when I'm out there as an ambassador, I often find myself to think that the communication is not always clear due to some inconsistencies that are present in the documentation, wiki, websites of the project itself. Therefore I'd like to help out addressing those issues. Another thing that I noticed is that sometimes people make comparison between Fedora and other distro/OS based on what they read on their favourite blogs/twitter/planet and solely based on those thing they make their idea about the quantity of available software as well as it's quality. For this reason I'd also like to help out speaking (like on the Magazine) about some packages I'm taking care of. For those reasons, I'd like to help out the Marketing team. [Magazine] Discussion about Shotwell article

Hello all, In the last ten minutes of the Magazine meeting today, we discussed the status of the Shotwell article currently sitting in the Drafts category. I think the last time we left off with it, its purpose and future were a bit unclear. Now, we know some things to be true. 1) Shotwell is definitely leaving Fedora in the near future as it is no longer being maintained. 2) Its future replacement, GNOME Photos, is not ready and likely will not be ready even for Fedora 24 (mentioning it now isn't worth it). 3) This article would be better focused on writing and introducing some alternative software to Shotwell. With all of these things in mind, it would be nice to convert this article to an introduction in one of the alternative programs available in Fedora. Sylvia (lailah / Kohane) pointed out one being Digikam, and someone else mentioned Gthumb as a possibility. Since this was originally Charles's article, we were hoping he could clarify about what he wants to write about or if this is an article he still wants to follow through with. @Charles, if you are no longer interested in writing this, we can set it up and leave it the Holding Pen as a possible article that someone could write in the future either when they have free time or maybe as low-hanging fruit for someone interested in writing about Fedora software. i3 Tiling Window Manager article approved!

We agreed that this would be an awesome article for the Magazine and it fits well in the theme of teaching users how to use cool and awesome software available in Fedora. Were you interested in writing the draft of the article? If so, based on your own schedule, do you know when you would be able to have a first draft available? Live streaming from SCALE14x

Hey folks. Wanted to let people know that I'll be live streaming from the Fedora SCALE booth to the Fedora YouTube channel. Any questions comments or feedback of things people would like to see us accomplish with this would be appreciated. I'll be doing atleast a two camera and two microphone setup for the stream. Also is the possibility that I can capture screens from secondary machines for demonstrations but that isn't set in stone yet. One thing I would appreciate some help with is a Fedora inspired banner I could use as a lower third. Something with the Fedora logo and space for two lines of text.
