Fedora Handbook - Call for Native Speakers
by Jiri Eischmann
Hi,
at last year's Flock I announced Fedora Handbook (a "getting started
with Fedora" guide that is printed and can be give away at event etc.).
Because it was created in the Czech community, the original is in
Czech. The handbook was very successful at Czech events, so we
translated it to English, so that it could be used abroad and
translated to other languages.
We have initial English translation, but it's rough and it needs a lot
of proofreading and rewriting which is something that needs to be done
by a native speaker.
It's written in AsciiDoc, easily readable and editable format: https://
github.com/lukaskotek/fedora-handbook-doc
Any volunteer to help? It'd be great to have it finished and printed
for Flock 2016. All I need is final text, we'll take care of
typesetting and printing.

Idea for F25 marketing blitz: Delivered in under 30 minutes or it's free
by Matthew Miller
When I ask what people would like from Fedora, one of the most common
requests is "make it either LTS or rolling release". Since these are
very different thing with very different impact on users, I usually dig
deeper and find that the real thing is people are worried about losing
a day or two to upgrading.
I've been emphasizing for a while now that our answer is to address
that actual pain point, and rather than changing the way we release,
we're solving it by making upgrades easy. And with Fedora 25, it seems
like we're really getting there. Since it's one of the top things
people present as a problem, and we've got an answer, I think we should
develop some marketing around it.
I just updated my system and it took about 26 minutes. I think it'd be
fun to play with the 1980s pizza chain delivery promise, and have some
banners and maybe stickers with related slogans and graphics. (Of course,
Fedora is _always_ free; that should be worked in somehow.)
What do you all think?

Social media wiki gardening
by Justin W. Flory
Hello all,
This morning, I did some wiki gardening to the "Marketing social
networks" page. This page is where all of our social media presences are
listed. I mostly did two things to the page:
(1) Organized between official accounts, secondary accounts, and
community accounts (with additional sections for community accounts
based on social network)
(2) Updated administrators for all official social media accounts that I
have access to (Facebook, Google+, Reddit, Telegram)
If you have time or know more about some of the other accounts, it would
be appreciated if you could give this page a look and add more info.

Thanks!

Oct. 18 meeting postponed
by Justin W. Flory
Hello all,
Today's Marketing meeting will be postponed until next week due to
unavailability of members this morning. Brian is traveling back from
South America, I am in class, and Gabriele is also unavailable.
We'll meet again next week with the same agenda. For now, you can see
the meeting agenda we were going to cover at the link below (will likely
reuse it for next week):
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Meeting:Marketing_meeting_2016-10-18
Thanks, and sorry for the late notice.

Magazine issues handling
by Eduard Lucena
Hi Marketing and Magazine teams,
Since we decided to split Magazine from Marketing, having Magazine ML and
IRC Channel separate from Marketing (Marketing meeting for August 30, 2016)
we were working really fine. But now we hit a stone, Magazine have no
Pagure or trac to follow tickets/issues.
For now, we are working with Marketing Pagure, and we have 3 issues related
to the Magazine:
208, 233, and 239.
The idea with this mail is to discuss with both teams if we should split
magazine's issues from Marketing Pagure, being Magazine still a subproject
of Marketing.
