Fedora Handbook - Call for Native Speakers
by Jiri Eischmann
Hi,
at last year's Flock I announced Fedora Handbook (a "getting started
with Fedora" guide that is printed and can be give away at event etc.).
Because it was created in the Czech community, the original is in
Czech. The handbook was very successful at Czech events, so we
translated it to English, so that it could be used abroad and
translated to other languages.
We have initial English translation, but it's rough and it needs a lot
of proofreading and rewriting which is something that needs to be done
by a native speaker.
It's written in AsciiDoc, easily readable and editable format: https://
github.com/lukaskotek/fedora-handbook-doc
Any volunteer to help? It'd be great to have it finished and printed
for Flock 2016. All I need is final text, we'll take care of
typesetting and printing.

Based on Zbigniew's feedback, and working with Matt Miller's announcement
from the Red Hat blog, I have put together a new draft for review. Please
review at your earliest convenience[1]

Fedora 25 Final Release Readiness Meeting, Thursday, November 10th @ 19:00 UTC
by Jan Kurik
Join us on irc.freenode.net in #fedora-meeting-2 for the Fedora 25
Final Release Readiness Meeting meeting.
The meeting is going to be held on Thursday, November 10th, 2016 at
19:00 UTC. Please check the [FedoCal] link for your time zone.
We will meet to make sure we are coordinated and ready for the Final
release of Fedora 25. Please note that this meeting is going to be
held even if the release is delayed at the Go/No-Go meeting on the
same day two hours earlier.
You may received this message several times, but it is by purpose to
open this meeting to the teams and to raise awareness, so hopefully
more team representatives will come to this meeting. This meeting
works best when we have representatives from all of the teams.

Idea for F25 marketing blitz: Delivered in under 30 minutes or it's free
by Matthew Miller
When I ask what people would like from Fedora, one of the most common
requests is "make it either LTS or rolling release". Since these are
very different thing with very different impact on users, I usually dig
deeper and find that the real thing is people are worried about losing
a day or two to upgrading.
I've been emphasizing for a while now that our answer is to address
that actual pain point, and rather than changing the way we release,
we're solving it by making upgrades easy. And with Fedora 25, it seems
like we're really getting there. Since it's one of the top things
people present as a problem, and we've got an answer, I think we should
develop some marketing around it.
I just updated my system and it took about 26 minutes. I think it'd be
fun to play with the 1980s pizza chain delivery promise, and have some
banners and maybe stickers with related slogans and graphics. (Of course,
Fedora is _always_ free; that should be worked in somehow.)
What do you all think?

Hey Pedro! At the time this email thread was started, if I recall, Jiri
(or maybe it was someone else, I'm not completely sure) was looking for
English native speakers to help translate this. If there is an English
version available, I'm sure the team behind this handbook would
appreciate translation assistance. :)
