Hello Fedora Friends,
We are coming up on the latest release of Fedora and we have a unique
opportunity to create a global event to celebrate!
How it will be structured is being worked on by the Mindshare Committee.
The general idea will most likely shape up to be something like:
We will use HopIn, length of the event is determined by the platform (72
hours)
1 or 2 "global sessions" organized by leadership on each day (3-6 total)
an unlimited number of "local" sessions submitted by the community (???)
- could be by team
- could be by location
- could be by language
For now the first step is to choose dates. We are looking at three
different weekends (Fri, Sat, & Sun) to schedule the event.
November 6th - 8th
November 13th - 15th
November 20th - 22nd
Please indicate your preference for a date.
If you would like to help organize a session, please note that as well.
Here is the ticket to leave your preference:

Cheers!

Thank you for sharing the link to the post and hence to the YouTube
recording. While I understand that it might slow down publishing, it
would help if at least a short list of key takeaways from the meeting
is also added to the post. The recording is 50-ish minutes and without
a summary it becomes a sort of adventure!

Hi Fedora Marketing list,
Some great folks I know are organizing a cross-community working group
about Open Source Marketing. There is a lot of knowledge and experience
in this mailing list.
It would be great to have a participant to rep the Fedora Community side
of things. Thought I would pass along the opportunity since it is just
getting started.

Marketing is super hard right now, for everyone. COVID has tightened a
lot of belts, and going on Twitter is like going into the Fire Swamp.
But people still have awesome projects that need funding, marketing, and
sharing. I’d like to talk about how we do that, today, and to share
resources and provide help for people who need it.
This would be a continuation of the Marketing WG from the Sustain event
in February, although it would be slightly changed due to the nature of
the world.
If you are at all interested in figuring out how to fund open source
projects, I think this will be a really productive working group.
Here’s the Doodle: https://doodle.com/poll/g74nn7hhi34c9n2u for next
week. Please sign up with your free times!
Our first task is to figure out how to have a productive discussion
about marketing that has actual deliverables. I’m excited!
Hopefully, see some of you soon.
