The configuration file changes as the set of local gears change and as the cartridges embedded in a gear change.
Either location: %{_sysconfdir}/stickshift or %{_localstatedir}/lib/stickshift/.stickshift-proxy.d is acceptable. The latter is a convention also used by our per-gear http configuration.
Perhaps the best choice is to use %{_sysconfdir}/stickshift.
